In all countries around the world soldiers are being tried within the military according to military laws - not civilian, he got probably the worse punishment for his crime,

Let assume the offender was not a soldier, let say it was a civilian like me, I would go to trail and lose, I would face some money compensation and probably conditional imprisonment, If the damage was severe I would face a few months of imprisonment and that will be it, my career will most likely not be effected.

The damage was not severe and the situation was not normal (he didnt jump on some guy in the street), his career is ruined and his service will end since he has no reason now to continue his military career, as I said he was punished enough.

Israel does not punish its soldiers like it should,everyone knows that fact except pro Israeli supporters who live in denial. You think that his military career is destroyed,I doubt that very much. What will probably happen is when this dies down he will be back up the ladder. I do not trust Israel to do anything right as they have a history of doing everything wrong especially when it comes to prosecuting their own soldiers. They claim that they have a moral army but the evidence overwhelmingly says they do not. This is just one in a long line of abuses by members of the IDF.
