But let's continue with your assertion. Let's talk about what guns can do. They can prevent crimes by their mere presence. They can help the most defenseless among us defend themselves against thugs. When I took my CHL class, and the renewal classes later, a large percentage of permit holders have been elderly people and women. These people who would otherwise be virtually defenseless now have options in various situations. Guns stop crimes thousands of times each day.
