He was a Great Man.Ran away from home at about age 12 yrs. old because like many
of that Era ,his father was a bully.Kinda drank as an excuse to hit their kids.
So Fields had to learn at an age where he wasn't even a teenager,how to
fend for himself.Which hard boils one's character.Fields used it to manage a comic gruffness
as the prototypical curmudgeon.The Irascible one.
But irritable in a wacky often topsy-turvy world of theatrics.

My workday was long yesterday, and involved 3 hours of driving...then hanging out in a conference room with people I don't know, discussing policies I think are ridiculous as if our discussions were going to actually result in positive change (HA!)

Today is going to be a restful sort of day. I spent all last evening (after getting home so exhausted I couldn't keep my eyes open) rolling around on my bed...I feel relaxed and productive today.

Also oddly verbose, sorry about that hahahaha.

 

Ugh. Tell me it wasn't billed as a 'brainstorming' event. My group has a 'retreat' scheduled for mid Feb, and I'm already coming up with excuses to be sick those days. *koff koff*

So far, I'm the only one that's had this type, but hubby was gone for the worst of it. I missed my Saturday with sweet patootie, so I'm having Elijah withdrawals.

I miss Texas, too. My oldest son and I are going March 1st. Might be spending the night in the Metroplex, I'll let you know.

 

Thanks CC....I'm glad to be percolating again.. I've never had the flu shot, and I intend to not ever get one. I catch a lot of grief for it, but I refuse. Besides, it's a toss-up whether the vaccine will even touch the strain of flu that's making the rounds. Keep my fingers crossed that none of my bar buddies get this stuff.

 

Yup, it certainly was, haha.

Well I put in my time. Now I have a backache...apparently I don't hold myself upright for the majority of my day because when I was forced to do it at the conference table, it resulted in muscle strain.

I spent the second half of the even struggling to keep everybody staring at me from noticing I was fighting to keep my eyes open and flopping forward onto the conference table, snoring and drooling. So I scribbled furiously, hunched over my agenda, shifted in my seat, practiced deep breathing and continually blinked and rolled my eyes.

I'm pretty sure everybody thinks I have epilepsy now, or some odd neurological disorder.

 

I was watching the radar yesterday when the tornado went over us. I had the bathroom stocked so all I had to do was drag the animals in there with me. If I'd blown away, they would have found a woman in leopard print jammies, big furry slippers, and a dog and two cats...lol I wasn't going to get dressed up to be blown away.

I'm looking so forward to sweet patootie helping me in the yard this spring. He loves it out there with me, and I'm on the hunt for his own little gardening tools.
