study- women prefer shaven men over beards why?

Think chemical warfare & the advantages of a snug fit on a gas mask.

 

I would be curious if we did a poll, for women only - asking them whether they prefer men with or without facial hair.

 

It was a stupid and leading question which could evoke many varied answers.

 

If the man is wealthy, and has a beard, then the woman will say she prefers a beard.

If the man is wealthy, and has a clean shaven face, then the woman will say she prefers a clean shaven face.

If the man is a Jihad Taliban fanatic with beard, the woman will say she loves beards, likes wearing a burka, and enjoys sex by insertion of AK 47 through a hole cut in the clothing. And likes camel smelling body odor too.

As a general rule, asking women what they think is an excercise in futility, because each woman is unigue, and each has a whole list of other priorities that influence their decision., including what they think men want to hear.

 

I laughed at a bunch of these. I am sure that some woman have specific preferences, but I do not limit myself on such matters. I can find worth in wide variety of facial hair as long as its on an attractive man, so anything from clean shaven to mountain men beards. I might have a slight preference for the man to have to ability to grow one though.

As far as delicate skin is concerned as long as you are past the initial stubble stage I would not consider refusing such a generous offer from a gentleman.

Military makes their personnel have short hair and be clean shaven for several reasons including proper grooming which makes everybody look the same in the communistic environment desired. Lice and such are number one concern, and also gas masks do not fit properly with long hair and thick facial hair. The little Hitler mustaches don't effect the fit of a gas mask.

On topic; Women are never satisfied. They go after a rough and ready, bad boy type, so they can turn them into something they are not, and when they can't change the individual into a perfect mold of that certain something he was never meant to be in the first place, it's his fault.

 

Without putting labels on women I would say it's also a generational thing. I have found that older women don't mind a bit of hair up, down, and around. However, I find the younger the woman the more likely she is to want her man to be clean shaven...at the very least where it counts to...erm...uh...reduce friction .

Just as some men like unstable crazy women. Its fun and exciting in the beginning, but I have this one categorized away as a lesson learned already, and I think most also find that their health and sanity are not worth the thrill.

I don't really have a validation for women or men who do that, I would find it a horribly unattractive characteristic on both parts. I wouldn't want to be with someone who didn't like me for who I was and visa verse.

It is definitely generational. My younger siblings in the 16-22 year old category, shave everything. I have a blonde haired sister (meaning you can barely see her body hair) that shaves her arms, and I know at least one of my younger brothers shaves his chest and another two brothers that do their pits.

 

It ain't easy finding a stable Women ... but when I did, I locked her in the basement and Married her.

Now I'm old .. gray ... and get fed regularly with Dog.

It's a great life ... I even get let out in the back yard everyday to Bark at the moon and chase rabbits.

 

Ironically, that last part in bold is exactly what's most likely to attract women to you. What you look like is often times completely irrelevant.

Facial hair gives problems when you are caressing with your face some parts of the women, and for that is better have it well shaven, also that parts of the women is recommended to have it shaved.

And also some beards can irritate the skin of the woman.

 

... and God Knows what parasites are trapped in those things!

It's more to keep the men on their toes.

Yes but men rarely try and change a girl into something, she's usually what he wants already and they go for it. Unless they can't get what tehy want and then they settle for whatever will have them.


I think that is good advise (going for that person with the most in common etc...), but rarely do couples get together for the right reasons.

 

Some what, but I am more observant, more realistic, and use common sense and logic much more than the modern version of what is considered a politically correct model of the day.

The Military does not allow long hair, male or female, or beards, as a matter of manifold practicality.

Long hair can get in the eyes, be used as a handle to control the head position, allowing easy throat cutting, and it makes it difficult to get helmets on and off and keep them fitting properly.

Long hair in field conditions, makes preventing lice and fleas difficult, and other sanitation issues more costly in water and soap.

Long hair makes quick visual inspection for injuries more difficult.

Beards, and not mustaches, interfere with the sealing of bio/chem/nuc warfare respirator masks, which are an essential part of modern warfare.

Additionally, the uniformity of dress is extended into uniformity of grooming, re-enforcing team cohesion.

Beards can also make proper ID of a person more difficult.

It has little to do with looking more professional.

Clearly, you've never served.

Gotta laugh at a lot of these posts.

1. You have to be clean cropped and shaven in the service to cut down on lice and ensure your mop gear fits snug, they don't want a bear screwing up the seal on the gas masks.

2. The ability to grow a beard varies from person to person.

And most importantly.

3. Not every guy looks good with a beard. Some guys just don't have the facial structure for it.

 

I have spent hundreds of hours working in deadly toxic atmospheres where the seal on my mask was the only thing between myself and a painful death.

I have worked at altitudes over 40K were a few seconds without a good seal and you black out.

I have worked at great depths were the wasted air around the edges of your mask would mean the difference between dry tanks halfway through proper depresurization on accent.

I don't see why its a laughing matter?
