That's just it: He WAS given a shot and made the most of it. Incidentally, recall Tom Brady.. 6th round selection, picked behind 6 QBs, given very poor grades by the scouts.. and enters his 14th season with 3 rings, passing records and a 100% shot at being a first ballot HOFer. Tebow doesn't need some kind of 'affirmative action' to make it in this league. He needs to prove himself to the satisfaction of his bosses when he gets a chance to play. Don't act like he's some victim here. He HAD his chance last year and likely blew it (don't know the details but I can't imagine the Jets intentionally jeopardizing their season by starting Sanchez if Tebow really was good enough to do the job.)
I fully well expect that most all the black athletes have voted for Obama. I also am certain that many other well-known, and unknown non-black athletes have voted for Obama, and I could care less. However, Tebow has went out of his way to portray himself as the high morality Christian athlete all-American boy. I have appreciated this fact that he appears to be one athlete that you will never see getting into drugs, or getting into trouble with the law. Because of this, I personally would be disgusted with him if he voted for Obama, and I would take it more personal than I would with other athletes.
I think that they would because if he wasn't that much better than Sanchez they wouldn't want the baggage that comes with him if he wins a few games. Ultimately I believe that they feel that they need to find their franchise QB elsewhere.
Here is the thing, for many years a good black athlete who may want to play quarterback has been shunted to the running back position or the wide receiver. from Pop Warner days. Racism plays a role in the position one learns or gets shunted to play. If an early coach pushes particular players to certain positions it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. This is true through every level. Tebow is a great athlete but not a great quarterback. His run at Denver was despite his play. I think one might want to use spell check if you are going to question other's intelligence.
you call it 'shunted to xxx position' I call it maximizing your team's potential. for example, if you have a black kid that can run fast and throw the ball well, and a white kid that throws the ball just as well, but is not fast..... it makes sense, for your team, to put the white kid at QB and the faster black kid at running back. It's not racist.... it's called working with the talent and personel that shows up to your door to make the best team possible. The black kid obviously has more talent than the white kid, hell, he may even be better at qb..... But I'd rather have a 3 star white QB and a 4 star black RB than to have a 5 star black qb and a white running back not worth a damn. You take away the run game from a team, and I don't care how talented your black qb is, it's going to be tougher for him to be effective and easier to defend if your team is only a single threat. utilizing talent is the difference between state championships and not making the playoffs. sorry if that isn't politically correct.
Nope....very politically correct.....and spoken like a true drunk white fan...only blacks are the real affroletes.....right......LOL.
didn't say that, but if I had a team of 5 star recruits that could play any position, coaching would be easy. Problem is, you sometimes have to make decisions based on needs of the team and available backups. I mean if you have 3 athletes that can run, 1 of which can also throw, and then a white qb that can only throw....By all means, put the faster black qb into the qb spot and put one of the other fast black kids in running back. Reality says, you very rarely get a loaded team like that where you have a ton of talent 3 deep in key positions. and if you only have two kids, one can't run, but can throw, and one can run and throw.... you put the kids into the position that they can serves the team needs the best. sorry, call it racist all you want.... but that's the facts about it.
LOL.....your post is filled with dwfisms......the whole Rivals "5 star" system is where the discrimination against white players begins. If you are a RB, WR, DB you have to have dreadlocks and a name like Jon'Tavarius to get a Rivals "5 star" rating. I note in your scenario, the white QB can only throw.....but the blacks are all "dual-threats"........I guess you never heard of Steve Young, Fran Tarkenton, Eric Crouch, Jake Locker, Tim Tebow, Jake Plummer, Johnny Manziel, et al. And I noticed that it was "the faster black qb".....and "the other fast black kids at RB". So now Whites can't run. Ryan Swope ran the fastest 40 at the combine (4.2 but doesn't go until the 6th round.....I'm sure you have a DWF explanation for that. So the most prolific WR in the NFL for the past six years went undrafted, and was cut from his first walk-on team......is NFL scouting a worthless waste of millions of dollars or does it discriminate against whites at certain postions....take your pick.....its one or the other.
LMFAO......Tebow "had his chance last year and blew it".......you do realize he was allowed to pass the ball eight friggin' times last year and completed 75 percent...........eight times in a season....not a game......geez.....some "chance" he was given.
So, you support affirmative action for whites. Got it. The boy couldn't cut the mustard because he was more focused on tebowing than quarterbacking. He may have a career on dancing with the has-been celebrities, though.
Ask Northwinds what happened to Alabama in 1970 against USC. What happened to Kentucky basketball in 1966?
Yep......those games are ancient history.......but in the college kick-off game of 2011 a bunch of lunch pail carrying, not the best athletes on the field, high football IQ, blue-collar, high-motor, 2 star white kids from Boise State came down here to the Georgia Dome and kicked the UGA Bulldog's "athletic" 5 stars in the teeth.......LMAO.
Didn't someone tell you?......Boise State, due to their lack of melanin content, is not allowed to play for a national championship.......even when they are the only undefeated Division I school, they still are not allowed to be considered for the national championship.....just ask the 2006 team that was the only undefeated D-1 school in the nation at 13-0......LOL.
no, I said a team would be a double threat with a Tony Romo as qb and michael vick as running back as opposed to Michael Vick as QB and Tony Romo as running back. Had both of those kids showed up on your peewee level team, or highschool team.... everyone in here would have no issue making Vick the RB.... not because he's black, and rb's have to "be black" but rather, if you have 2 kids that can play QB, but you are thin in the RB position.... 1. I'm going to make sure I have both my athletes on the field during offense, and 2. Even if Vick is the better QB.... you have to "move the black guy" to rb position for the team.... not racism, like someone earlier suggested.
Lol...It's the capitalists who have thrown him under the bus. http://denver.cbslocal.com/2013/05/31/report-tebows-camp-says-nfl-career-might-be-done/
I know you hate him because he is an upstanding White Christian male..........and the powers that be in the NFL hate him for the very same reasons......:..they want our children to look up to black thugs with dreadlocks, a 72 IQ named De'quan'darius.:.....
pretty interesting, for that is probably the same response I would have gotten from Northwinds. BTW, Since he never answered my question, maybe you can... http://www.politicalforum.com/curre...ite-active-pro-athlete-10.html#post1062611434
Jesus Christ , who told you life is fair? How about you let the NFL decide what their policies should be? You know what you do if you don't like those policies? You don't watch the NFL. duh!! (*)(*)(*)(*)ing stupid, selfish people just irritate me to no end.
Oh, I think he's seriously stupid, and that is about it. Actually I've come to the conclusion that about 90% of the people on this board are nothing but trolls and the powers that be want it that way.
It isn't the fact that the NFL hates him, it is the fact that Tim Teebow is a college system quarterback and does not have the skills to be paid $3-5 million as a backup. The other fact is that his agent got him to where he is today with the Jets. That was his worst move. Should have gone to Jacksonville instead for less money and with out the lime light. Even now, the CFL will not take him because he is all used up.
