Israel did not sign the NPT....Iran DID....thus Iran a country that did not have the technical capability of building it's own Reactors signed the NPT and was allowed to purchase Russian Reactors and Nuke Tech.

Iran made a DEAL with the U.S....and this is possibly the best thing that could have happened for us as either Iran will HONOR the agreement...which would be great for all sides....or Iran will break the agreement....which would make Iran look very bad in the eyes of the world.

For those complaining about...allowing Iran to have time to continue building Nukes because they made a deal with the U.S. is placating Iran....they really don't understand either the issue or the realities.

The U.S. Military cannot be deterred by a country with a few circa 1945 Fission Bombs and with really no delivery system as such Iranian Nukes would be HUGE...and the only way Iran could deliver such a bomb would be a large truck.

As well current U.S. Radiation Detection systems based on Satellites, Ships, Aircraft, Mobil Units...etc...are so sophisticated and so sensitive it would be IMPOSSIBLE for Iran to be able to hide such weapons.

Years ago the U.S. Military Satellites using Deep Ground and Ocean Penetrating Radar were able to find secret and shielded underground Iranian Nuclear Facilities that Iran constructed and this violates the NPT.

Iran still refused to admit they existed until the U.S. provided EXACT DETAILS AND LOCATIONS of such secret Iranian Nuclear Facilities to the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and at that point when the IAEA demanded access Iran finally admitted they existed.

Right now the U.S. could not be in a better position....as it is hoped within 7 to 10 years the Iranian Old Religious Guard will die out allowing the over 70% of the Iranian Population that is 30 years old and younger to take control as they want freedom and democracy.

If in the mean time the Iranian Old Guard attempts to do something Militarily STUPID....there really is NOTHING Iran could do that the U.S. Military could not EASILY handle.

The truth about Israel's secret nuclear arsenal - it doesn't exist, since it was never tested. Typical fearmongering by Israel.

It's what's called "double-standards". The idea of an arms race is simple. You want weapons, but just as important, you want your enemies to not have them.

Of course when you use morality and finger-wagging, this makes you a hypocrite. At least they could be honest about that. Instead, countries like USA (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) about WMD's even though they use WMD's many times.

They say Iran getting a bomb would "start an arms race".. Give me a break.. The arms race started ages ago. They just don't want Iran to join.

But in the end, it's not really about the bomb.. There is no "nuclear issue".. Nuclear enrichment was the closest thing Israel and the western powers could come up with to complain about to try hold their enemy down, because Iran is their geopolitical rival. Iran is comparatively an extremely well-behaved country, so that's all they had. They had to inflate and exaggerate this "nuclear issue" then.

The best possible thing Iran can do right now is continue exactly as they are. Fully cooperative, and complete a deal that can show the world once and for all that their enrichment program is peaceful.

    Ahhh...this is from 1995.

    HOMEFEATURES
    Israel allowed first supercomputers

    13 NOVEMBER 1995

Israel is to purchase two American supercomputers for university research, following a change of policy by the United States government. The United States had barred export of supercomputers to Israel on the grounds that they might be used to develop nuclear weapons.

Israel has signed an agreement that it will use the machines purely for civil and education purposes .

The two supercomputers, a 16-processor Cray Research J90 and a 64-processor IBM SP2, will enable Israeli researchers to "run jobs between 50 to 100 times faster than they are capable of doing today from their workstations," according to Dr Zeev Barzilai, who spent 15 years at IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Centre in New York and is now on international assignment at IBM Israel as the country's executive for high performance computers andcommunications.

According to Science Ministry director general Zvi Yanai, Israel's entry into the world of the supercomputer will have far-reaching effects on scientific research and technology in Israel.

The machines are capable of jobs ranging from aircraft and computer chip design to weather forecasting and pollution modelling. A key application is in computational chemistry and biochemistry. Israel has a small but dynamic pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry whose work could be accelerated by using supercomputers to examine the physical shapes and interactions of molecules.

On the scale used by the United States to classify computers for export purposes, the Cray machine is rated at 5,200 million theoretical operations per second, and the IBM machine at 7,000 MTOPS. American sources have hinted that the threshold for supercomputer exports will be raised further to 40,000 or even 60,000 MTOPS in the near future. Andrew Bennett, economic officer at the US Embassy in Israel, said that supercomputers "are getting to be a commercial concern and can no longer be controlled by the US".

jericho missiles also are "typical fear mongering by Israel"? The question is if somebody is ready to test this "myth" and get a chance to get an unpleasant surprise.

Well..that would be just great....except Iran....even though it has made an agreement with the U.S.....and believe me I sincerely hope Iran honors the agreement....but what we are seeing right now is Iran is currently in violation of about 23 IAEA detailed NPT rules and Iran is NOT attempting to rectify these violations.

Iran currently has 19,000...that's right....19,000 Centrifuges running to enrich Uranium to Weapons grade. Now the NPT allows a country who signs it to enrich small amounts of Uranium for experimental purposes but the NPT DOES NOT allow large scale programs for a country to enrich large amounts of Uranium to Weapons Grade.

As well....the building of secret Underground Nuclear Facilities which the United States detected and Iran finally admitted to these Underground secret Nuclear Facilities existing to the U.N and IAEA after the U.S. provided the exact locations of such secret underground Nuclear Facilities ALONE is considered such a GRAVE VIOLATION OF THE NPT....that the U.N. Security Council can force Iran to either destroy such facilities or the U.N. Security Council can vote to send in U.N. Forces to destroy them or seize them.

Now....the U.S. is perfectly happy to allow time to tell whether Iran will Honor it's agreement with the U.S. and the U.S. is betting that in the time that passes to the deadline of this agreement that Iran's Old Religious Guard will die out and the large number of young Iranian's....over 70% of the Iranian Population is 30 years old or younger...will take over and become a free democratic society.....or....if Iran breaks the agreement....the U.S. Military certainly has many options and especially 7 to 10 years from now many of the new U.S. Stealth Ford Class Carriers and Ticonderoga Class Aegis Cruisers will already have the new FREE ELECTRON LASER SYSTEMS installed and supplied power by the two A1B Nuclear Reactors.

As well the U.S. Military already posses extremely powerful Non-Nuclear EMP Devices which are available in several sizes and strengths as 2 of the smaller EMP's can fit inside the internal bomb bays of the F/A-22 Raptor and much larger EMP's can be carried by all U.S. Heavy Bombers and would most likely be dropped by B-2 Stealth Bombers.

    So...what exactly does this mean?

It means that if Iran broke it's agreement and developed Nukes the U.S. Military and at first USAF....would penetrate deep into Iran with Stealth F/A-22's and B-2's and drop a large number of Non-Nuclear EMP's....ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE devices which would COMPLETELY RENDER ANY AND ALL IRANIAN MILITARY EQUIPMENT, VEHICLES, TANKS, TRUCKS, MISSILES, RADAR SYSTEMS....anything that uses any form of electronics completely unusable and inert.

Then....extremely large numbers of U.S. Special Forces and Rangers and Airborne Divisions could drop into any Iranian Nuclear Facility area and SEIZE ALL NUCLEAR TECH....as the only way to properly to this is to seize such Nuclear material not bomb it as that would kill many civilians.

Iranian Republican Guard Units would not even have the ability to drive to the U.S. drop zones and the Iranian Navy and Air Force would most likely stand down as to attempt to engage U.S. Naval Ships or USAF aircraft would be suicide.

With any luck non of this will be necessary and perhaps the Iranians will realize just how badly things could go for them if they broke the deal.

I agree with you that the USA could kick Iran's ass, and I share your hope that Iran honor the deal. But this part right here I cannot believe for one moment. Nobody has ever confirmed any actual weapons grade enrichment, let alone in 19k centrifuges. If you disagree, tell me who determined that and when please. That would have been that smoking-gun evidence we've all been waiting for.

    And why is that ?
Israel was in a bad situation in 1973, yet they didn't use any "secret" nuclear arsenal on the Arabs.

You've a logical failure in that message. I said that Israel does not posess any kind of domesticaly developed nuclear weapons because they need to be tested in order to prove their ability to function. Israel hasn't commied any tests. Ever. Thus it is unlikely to have any functioning nuclear weapons.

Am I supposed to be impressed or something? We are talking about nuclear weapons here. Ballistic missiles is another story.

The Obama administration has said Iran is probably a year away from having enough enriched uranium to make a bomb.

Bernadette Meehan, an NSC spokeswoman for President Obama's National Security Council, said the intelligence community maintains "a number of assessments" regarding potential time frames for Iran to produce enough weapons-grade uranium for one weapon or a testable nuclear device.hi

"We continue to closely monitor the Iranian nuclear program and its stockpile of enriched uranium," Meehan said.

World powers are seeking an agreement "that ultimately resolves all of the international community's concerns about Iran's nuclear program," she said. "The ultimate goal is a comprehensive agreement that is credible, transparent, and verifiable."

In the report, Albright said negotiations with Iran should focus on so-called "breakout" times, or the time required to convert low-enriched uranium to weapons-grade.

Albright, who has testified before Congress, said the negotiators should try to find ways to lengthen the breakout times and shorten the time that inspectors could detect breakout. ISIS' analysis is based on the latest Iranian and United Nations reports on Iran's centrifuge equipment for producing nuclear fuel and its nuclear fuel stockpiles.

Iran's stockpile of medium-enriched uranium has nearly doubled in a year's time and its number of centrifuges has expanded from 12,000 in 2012 to 19,000 today.

Not true. A nuclear bomb does not need to be tested to work. Initially, it is exploded to announce to the world you have it. Subsequently, you explode it to measure the yield of advanced technologies.

You need to test every device to be sure it is functioning in the way you desire. It is an axiom. Double the case if you hadn't any expirence with developing a particular device previously. As I said, no tests-->no nukes.

Besides, what is the point to hide it if you have one?

Israel, an island of sanity in the region of turmoil and barbarity, a country in which Palestinians vote, are elected to the Knesset, serve in diplomatic corps, are judges, and enjoy more freedoms than exist in most Arab countries. Ask any Palestinian living in Israel, if he want's to emigrate.

Well, even before Trinity test, the Little Boy was already shipped to the Pacific, as no one had any doubts it'll work; and this is no longer 1945. What I'm saying, you only need to explode your nuke if you want to announce to the world you have it.

Israel most likely doesn't even have nukes -- they're just bluffing. But what if they do have them? So what? Many other nations have nukes. It's only fair that everyone should have nukes if they can get and want them.

If a nation has no nukes, the U.S. should share some with them. It's only fair. Keep the playing field level so that no one gets bullied by another.:handshake::bonk:

    Gracias

How do you know Iran has 19,000 centrifuges if, as you made clear earlier, they are not allowing IAEA inspections? Is this one of your educated guesses, or has your 'TEAM' been in there as part of your 'JOB' (nudge, wink:roll:)?

    Taxcutter says:
How do you know Israel has atomic or thermonuclear weapons? Have they ever tested one?

Atomic bombs are notoriously unreliable. That's why the big boys spent vast sums in testing programs. They had duds and fizzles. We'll probably never know how many, but the fact that testing continued over four decades indicates a low degree of confidence.

Without testing, existence must be questioned.
