WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to offer an alternative in his speech to the U.S. Congress on the ongoing nuclear talks with Iran, a senior U.S. administration official said on Tuesday.

Bibi offered no solutions, no actual alternatives to the current negotiations, according to senior US officials.

"Simply demanding that Iran completely capitulate is not a plan, nor would any country support us in that position. The prime minister offered no concrete action plan," the official said, speaking on background.

Bibi is under no obligation to offer an alternative plan. He pointed out the mistakes in Obama's plan and that's his only responsibility.

"your ideas suck, but I have none of my own...so I shall only point fingers"

...is not the strategy of a responsible leader, but a child.

I thought he offered a very good set of plans...(1) Ask the USA not to sell him out and (2) Shame Obama into getting out of the way if a military response is needed.

Your sentiment indicates how very little you know about the history of the Israeli/Iran conflict. Many times, Bibi has come out in favor of sanctions - many, many times - and that was a big factor in his speech today as well. Continued sanctions.

    Did you even listen???

It should be pointed out that Bibi is a liar when it comes down to how big of a threat Iran is.
And that is so, according to his own Mossad. He is in no position to point at anybodies mistakes on this issue.

But I thought Obama said we were allies? Why would we let iran obtain nuclear weapons after they stated they will wipe Israel off the map?
If Obama were a leader he should back Israel 100% unless everyone likes nuclear fallout.

We already debunked the "Bibi lied" conspiracy theory. But, even had he lied - what politician does not lie? Obama's told many whoppers. It's what they do.

Are these "senior US officers" in condition to grant that these beloved "negotiations" are going to succeed?

I don't think so ... and I won't hear to their arguments ... since it's simply all rhetoric [I'm just following the teaching of President Obama about considering he arguments presented by others as rhetoric ...].

Unlike our current administration, that feels it needs to tell our enemies our military plans , Bibi does not give Iran any quarter on what Israel can and will do to defend itself. It's called 'Leadership'. No surprise dems have a hard time recognizing it.

You say it was debunked he is a liar, to than affirm he is a liar since he is a politician. Nice one.
Besides that. It has not been debunked. These leaks came from the South African secret service mail with mossad.

Sigh. It WAS debunked. The information Bibi cited came from the IAEA, before the letter in which the Mossad said it might take more time, although even that letter didn't amount to Bibi telling a "lie," it only differed slightly. What is it with people that don't pay attention and continue to regurgitate debunked claims?

As far as all politicians being liars - well, aren't they? Just because Bibi did not lie when you claim he did, does not mean he's never lied, does it?

And, in the sense that Bibi has "probably" lied at some point in his political career, doesn't indicate that he lied when he made the speech. You can look up the IAEA reports yourself and find out that Bibi did not lie. What he claims (and, by the way, he specified that his information came from the International Atomic Energy Agency), is right there in black and white.

Don't be a bandwagon rider. Do some research.

Actually pretty lame excuse for this senior US official. Of course Netanyahu offered an alternative plan - make a deal with Iran that will prevent them from going nuclear. Duh. As for specifics of his plan - the US government was hysterical about Netanyahu not disclosing the details of the secret negotiations, turning around now and blasting him for not discussing specifics, which is what they demanded from him is pretty duplicitous and disingenuous.

In 1995 Bibi published a book called "Fighting terrorism" that claimed Iran was 1 to 3 years from a nuclear weapon.

In 2002 he lectured the US Congress on Iraq's nuclear weapons.

I thought he was perfectly clear. He will defend Israel. Can you guess what that means? This is what happens when the POTUS is perceived an irrelevant joke by Iran. Obamas way of keeping Iran from a nuke is to........ensure they get one? The guy is so weak, Iran told him to f off we aren't waiting 10 years. I hope we all like WWIII and nuclear fallout. I guess that's what happens when you elect a community organizer to fundamentally change the greatest nation on earth to the point Iran tells you that you are a joke.

It's not debunked, since it's Bibi and his government that say that they cited the IAEA. But it's a fact that in 2012 Clinton Bastin, lead consultant to the IAEA, wrote a letter to bibi and obama that gross misrepresentations of science and physics took place in order to support the concept that Iran has a nuclear weapons program. Ergo he denies Bibi was citing from his report. And That goes hand in hand to what the Mossad mailed South Africa.

So it stands that Bibi is a liar, who lied at the UN about Iran.

Really reminded me of someone simply acting at stirring his base back home, is there an election soon?

Isn't his rating down to the 20's? Who will likely be in power in Israel next election? Could be an interesting change for ME politics

Our leaders are having talks with Iran and secretly making deals with Israel.
Have your cake and eat it too.
