I am quite impressed with Dr. Ben Carson and unlike many in America.... I do believe that The Donald for all his flaws.... would be a better and more comprehensible President than the one holding the office at this time! Romney is obviously a skilled executive and I believe he is a fine fellow, but he should not run. Many more millions of Republicans will sit out the election if any establishment Republican is nominated. That is if they are lucky - if they are not lucky they will vote against them. The last election was their last chance - they betrayed their base.
I am truly impressed by your obviously well informed reply but...… can the phrase "establishment Republican" really be applied to a man who is a member of the Latter Days Saints? Mr. Mitt Romney is certainly an political outsider by many of the important criteria that American voters would be looking for. Besides...… he seriously offended many long term G. O. P. supporters back in 2012 by being so critical of Mr. Newt Gingrich!
Thank you very much for your kind thoughtful reply. You raise very good points regarding Romney. While I consider LDS a fully integrated part of American culture a significant minority do not. Nevertheless, Romney, like Gingrich have been very loyal party men for decades. They are both part of the GOP establishment that has now alienated itself from the conservative voter base. As government, with its ever more obvious incompetence, has grown larger, more powerful, more intrusive and more costly It has seriously frightened what is now a bipartisan supermajority. This new political reality favors Trump, Carson, and perhaps Cruz, and will reject Gingrich as fast as it rejected Romney. Gingrich is especially vulnerable because of his so far little known association with the mortgage crisis. Trump, Carson, and Cruz may ultimately be rejected if they do not make it very clear that the size, power and cost of government will be cut (really cut) if they are elected.
For this poll you really needed a "NONE OF THE ABOVE" choice. Bernie Sanders 2016 FEEL THE BERN PS Or of course you could add a Bernie Sanders choice.
