What the hell is wrong with these pigs??????

Alright, integration of Arabs, Kurds, other ethnics, etc is important, but "how about integration of American law enforcement to EU" ?????

I don't think they teach them the deadly force triangle.

    Ability, oportunity, and intent.

well as much as I am outraged at excessive force in america, I'm not sure this one is excessive since I can't seem to find a video thats not blurred out and obstructed... the police came because the man was alleged to have fired shots into the air, and when he turned I guess the gun was in his hand... now at this time its still alleged and the news reports seem scattered... if he had a gun in his hand when he was turning around, and its been established he had fired it into the air, then they were justified to start shooting at him, I think we can agree on that so far?

so the dispute comes in, should they have continued to shoot while he was on the ground crawling away... I guess I would want to know where the gun was at this point... was he still holding it in his hand, or had it dropped away from his body... thats going to be my only question to determine if it was excessive or not... if the gun was still in his hand as he was crawling away, I can't say this was excessive... if it was clearly out of his hand and visible on the ground to the officers, then its excessive...

devil is in the details I guess...

clearly the other thread I started about excessive police force, shows I was in favor of the criminal, but in this one there just isn't enough yet to decide either way...

P.S. why are people worried about this being a gas station? I don't see the significance of that, especially since they were shooting parallel to the sidewalk so it wouldn't have gone into the pumps or anything? is that what you guys were worried about?

P.S.S. here I found a better an unedited still picture with a story...

I think this shows the man was clearly still capable of using that gun despite being on the ground and attempting to move with it in his hands... he could be a danger to numerous people standing around... now I'm beginning to think this one was justified, as bullets don't need to be close to you to reach someone within sight...

Gas stations not only have pumps, but they carry little propane tanks that sit along side of the buildings and sometimes by the entrance/exit doors.

It would have been clear had they shot him as soon as he pointed the gun at them, but that's not what I see in the video in the opening post. I see a man turn his back on the cops, walk away from them, then they open fire.

Same here. I saw a training exercise where a person had a gun to his head and was threatening suicide. The policeman was called on to handle the situation. Unexpectedly he would suddenly turn the gun at the policeman and fire. He got every single one of them but one, in this training simulation. You have a shooter with his gun in his hand, you have a very dangerous situation to the policeman and anyone within range.
Same thing I was looking for.
If that was the situation while they were firing, I suspect that will be the finding.

well we must see different videos, because the one I watched above looked like he was walking away while turning around to the cops before they I heard the crackle of gunfire... but when I heard that first crackle he was looking back and turned halfway back, probably when they saw the gun the guy just used to fire int the air and rob the gas station with... thats also in many of the articles being written on this... thats why the cops were called to the gas station... shots fired robbery in progress...

but if you can see the picture I added they even circle the gun he was still holding in his hands as he was crawling away, or attempting to at least... so while I started another thread for another incident, where I admonished the cops for excessive lethal force, I think this one is slowly being justified beyond a reasonable doubt... guess it will just be personal preference on how you would react to a guy with a gun...

it is amazing how times have changed... with social media we almost demand the entire case be presented and solved before our eyes within minutes of it occurring... I see more and more police departments releasing video and audio and other things to the media when they NEVER would have done this in the past, because it needed to be looked at with a calm set of eyes, and needed to be reviewed by prosecutors for a potential trial in the future... but it seems in this more cameras every day world we are slowly leading to individuals releasing critical evidence one way or the other... but sometimes without the correct context so we get more violent reactions one way or the other... normally people are screaming at police for not handling all the crime in their neighborhoods and making them unsafe to live in... now we see outrage when we're able to capture police shooting the criminals who presented a clear danger to the person they robbed as well as the officers expected to respond...

I just wonder if this backlash against cops, which I have participated in some, as I felt they deserved it, will continue and amplify even when its not deserved... will this cause good people to avoid serving the public much like political office has caused good people to avoid ever running because they won't want to get dragged through it? will we soon have to lower standards for police, or will they continue the obvious trend of backing off from situations and letting them play out without stopping them... times are getting very interesting and I'm not sure how this one is going to play out... cops who stand up, or cops who stand down...

With the mobs being whipped up the police have to release exculpatory evidence as they did with the "Gentle Giant" robbing the convenience store. Had they gotten that out more quickly, maybe Ferguson wouldn't have burned with home values now cut in half. For many, their home equity is their life savings.

Police feed off the support of the community to generate the bravery needed to face highly dangerous situations. They need to know that the community is behind them, and this is at deep risk in many areas.

It's different with all the cameras, hopefully for the better.

It's still strange how the video began

The suspect might had a gun in his hand, but he wasn't pointing the gun at police from what we could see. He was was walking before he got lit up.

Intent can be learned with action. That could be reaching for a weapon or raising the weapon

If the suspect got the gun in his hand but is not aiming it at the police, then the intent is not there making the deadly force triangle incomplete.

You are not permitted to use deadly force just because someone has a weapon is in his hand. You are supposed to use deadly force when was reaching for that weapon or raising that weapon at someone.

You have capability and opportunity, but intent like I said comes with action.

I'm curious as to what happened before the video.

Because at the start of the video the suspect was walking away.

From what I've seen a lot of cops view the American people as the enemy. They hate for Americans to bear any sort of defense equipment, and very often shoot Americans dead for the sin of bearing some semblance of defensive ability.
Cops rampage around with their guns drawn, or holstered and instantly ready to shoot you.
This is. because, we have not honored the purpose of America, and have instead made the world drunk with inequitable examples of hypocrisy, violence, prejudice and arrogance.
Since we refused to have "nature's God" be our King, He has appointed the basest of men to rule over us - men who hate us. Daniel 4:17 & Leviticus 26:17

I saw the thread title and I sad "OMFG, the L.A. County Sheriff's Department has adopted the M-1 Garand !!!"

Good choice if your engaging bad guys from 300 yards to 900 yards away.

The only rifle that uses a clip is the M-1 Garand and no hand gun uses a clip.

Everybody sees that the policemen, both of them, stand in the wide open, refusing to take any cover to protect their lives, and are rather comfortable standing there blowing as many holes in 1 man as some kind of nazi firing squad. So much for claiming this was a "very dangerous situation".

What I see are four ammunition magazines.

Clips like stripper clips are used to load ammunition magazines or loading ammunition directly into a bolt action rifle magazine.

Go to the link below. On the left is a clip, the one you see is for a M-1 Garand. The one on the right is a stripper clip.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clip_(firearms)#/media/File:Clip_M1-SKS.JPG

There are also clips to reload a revolvers ammunition cylinders.

    Good post Darkbane

I see social media as a double edged sword. It can give the people a lot of power but as with any power it can and will be misused and abused.

The problem i see is to many of us are to quick to jump to conclusions based on to little "FACTUAL" information. We get on social media and misinformation grows faster than a snowball going downhill.

What this ends up doing is distorting and manipulating the serious issue of police brutality to where they are quickly becoming the enemy and i can guarantee you that is not where any of us want to be.

People need to be more responsible with social media and Police need to do a better job of weeding out the bad cops.

I for one, other than an occasional forum such as this do not participate in social media at all. Hell i don't even have a cell phone. I find the negatives outweigh any positive. There are times where i can see how social media will end up destroying the society that so many think it will help to preserve.

Lol. It's really no big deal. I'm not as anal as other people are about it. Mostly only people who work with guns a lot know the difference anyway. Like military and law enforcement. But getting punched in the throat to many times for calling it a clip during bootcamp will drill the word magazine into your head pretty fast.

    - - - Updated - - -

The videos don't show us nearly enough to be able to determine wether or not this was justified. However that photo Darkbane posted is some pretty huge evidence to support the "it was justified" side.

    You think?
Cops taking cover, fearing for their lives, and in a brief occasion shoot at an armed person.
Cops standing in the wide open, not a care in the world, shooting at an armed person's back.

    Big difference
