Golly... I guess the thing to recall is that an active, irrational shooter is a greater danger to the general public than the potential for a stray round to penetrate a fuel cell buried below the gas station or a fictional propane tank.

The moral of the story, don't threaten those licensed to shoot and kill your ass. (Because, the odds are, they'll shoot and kill your ass.)

    That likely is the key.

Hunh? These are at gas stations all the time. They sit on those crate shelves.

The moral of the story is get the bad guy, but don't blow people up. I heard they shot 33 times, but the guy was hit 11. I wonder where the other 22 bullets went.

and to amplify everything you said above... the types of media people click on, later determines the future results that will be fed to their phones or browsers... they track what you click on, and the more you click on one mantra over another, the more and more they need that single narrow sub-set of information to you... soon you only see and hear from like-minded people with no challenge or objection to it since they are merely tracking your browsing habits and feeding you what is most likely to create a click-thru ratio with you... not simply providing you unbiased news, but clearly sending you biased news in order to get that click-thru their business needs to profit...

we're entering a new world where our ability to intermingle and get a taste of everything, is slowly leading us down a path where the only thing we mingle and taste is those who agree with our tastes, and nobody is there to convince us to try a new dish we may or may not like, but we'll never know since that voice is effectively removed from ever encouraging us to try other things... surrounded by all like-minded people, fed by like-tasting tongues... its a dangerous thing thats transpiring...

SO the cops were reckless for shooting near a gas station but a man brandishing a firearm who reportedly already had been firing it was not a danger near a gas station? What makes the cops more reckless than the other man here exactly?

Well, in most cases, the police cannot use deadly force in any instant that a civilian can't (which makes sense, police officers are civilians) but one exception is the fleeing felon rule. If after committing a felony the fleeing suspect would have to pose a significant threat of death or of bodily harm to the officer or to others then lethal force may be justified.

I am very aware of tracking and targeted advertising but was not aware it was to that extent. Thanks for the info. I have seen how these things are conditioning people and leading them down the primrose path to oblivion.

I think it's what Roger Waters had in mind when he wrote "Welcome to the Machine"?

"Welcome my son, welcome to the machine
    What did you dream?
It's alright we told you what to dream"

Which is precisely what happened... yet you're here crying about something that didn't happen to things that you have no evidence even existed, while you pretend that what you claim to have wanted to happen... didn't?

    See the problem?

Pity the poor Marine recruit who referred to his rifle as a gun. :roflol:

That was good for a couple hundred squat thrust and the second time you found yourself on the company road with your rifle in one hand and your penis in the other hand. When any one approached you, you yelled out "This is my rifle, this is my gun. This is for killing and this is for fun!!!"

Technically to be a gun the bore has to be over .50 cal. Then it's a gun or a cannon.

Naval guns can be called "naval rifles" but only old navy salts do that.

you can do a little test yourself... with two of the most popular sites on the web... one for videos, one for news...

you can go to news.yahoo.com and click on news stories of a particular type, and do this for a couple days, by the end of the week, you probably won't see anything but stories related to that type of slant you've clearly induced... then clear your cookie data again, and notice how different the news stories are that suddenly appear that exact same day, seconds after you cleared the data... suddenly you're getting all the generic "top" stories of each more specific category...

you can do the same thing at finance.yahoo.com and depending which ticker symbols you look at, or save as quotes, you will see the news stream dramatically changes to business news with mostly just those industry stories... you won't get a broad range of news anymore, just those that impact the industries you have looked at quotes for...

want to do something probably more immediate? do you view a lot of youtube videos? go to youtube... take a couple screen shots at what youtube recommends for you, and what the general videos are on the front page... then delete the cookies related to youtube, reload, and look how very different the video are they it tries to get you to see... its learned what you like or what will most likely get you to click-thru and view, by words or still shots... and thats all they spoon-feed you... things you will click...

same things goes for popular shopping sites like amazon... they are MASTERS at browsing habits and more importantly shopping habits... have you ever wondered why they are so good at coming up with suggestions at the bottom of the page after a while? its because they study what you but, and what others who buy those things buy... and then recommend things in order to get you to buy more, no different than any other company, but you're the one feeding them the answers to change your results...

its happening more and more all over the web, and as companies are sharing more and more customer data with each other, selling their databases and online browsing habits, companies soon know what you want before you've ever visited their website, and dramatically change how that front page looks from person to person, all to capitalize on your wallet to get the most dollars out of you... cookies set in your browser may make using some websites easier, but its also changes what you will see...

news websites more and more are doing this... because they've discovered its literally the best way to retain, and bring back viewers story after story day after day... thats why you see media becoming more biased one way or the other, because it pays to become that way... and ultimately, they aren't here to report news, they're here to make money... their business model just happens to include information as the content you're willing to "pay" for... or at least their advertisers who reach you pay for... its not limited to left or right media... mainstream news sources now are following yahoos model because its been so successful for them... mobile and biased...

P.S. a fun study was done a while ago, showing they could predict with almost 93% accuracy I believe, your political leaning... scary they can determine that without you telling them... imagine all the other things they know about you, that you might not know about yourself yet... ;)

Lynwood is a warzone. I work in that neighborhood daily. I doubt this person was innocent.

I want to find this cop and buy him a cup of coffee for cleaning up the streets i put my life on the line just to work on.

Our platoon performed the manual of arms with the foot locker a few times but only an hour at max.

Four Hours !!! Maybe it felt like four hours ?

Did you serve in the Army or Marines ?

Yes it is an actual thing, but I am not so sure how much ad feed companies share with each other. I started getting very specific ads on FB and clicked on the "Why am I seeing this button." It said that a specific organization I belonged to had shared my email I use on my FB account with them and had "requested" their ads be shown to me. I quit the organization and switched to the FB option of not showing me targeted ads.

are you suggesting that the police use incindiary rounds? I can't tell if those were 9 mm or .40.

In any event, from their distance, they would not puncture a propane tank let alone cause it to explode unless they had incindiary rounds.

Maybe you've watched too many movies but the single or multiple shots to a propane tank results in.......................spent ammo, nothing more.

You're better off using the lead on the bad guys

If shooting a bbq grill propane tank resulted in a big boom, I assure you that there would be lots of terrorists doing that as they could be 100 yards away (or further) taking the shot and live to kill infidels another day
