By Who is it called Genocide? The same countries that bombed us. Thanks but no thanks. Did not know that genocide ment evacuating children, women and elderly but then wiping out the soldiers. Lots of them mujaheedins. You do not understand how happy I am to see the same people knocking on your doorsteps now days, You know the Islamists - - - Updated - - - Yeah With 2+ million people imprisoned. Well done USSR, I mean USA
Lets put you in jail for 12 years without a trial and see how fair you think such a process is then. Or ... torture you on the basis that you look a certain way and see how fair you think that is. The irrationality and mindlessness of that post has set a new low. And for you that is not easy.
The big question is, was there sufficient evidence he had committed a crime in the first place? If it was because of witnesses who bore testimony against him, was there an investigation into whether what these individuals claimed was true, and if not will any of these witnesses be punished for false testimony? Or will, as I rather suspect, there be no accountability? Oh, by the way, trying to extend one's judicial jurisdiction over individuals residing in another sovereign country is tantamount to an act of war. (Of course, that was the case here, NATO had effectively declared war against Serbia even though there was no formal declaration of war, and this was effectively a war trial) On the other hand, if NATO could tactlessly bomb suspected combatants, why would imprisoning one of them for 12 years be any worse?
Just goes to show that armed conflicts are inherently very antagonistic to the concept of individual rights and fair justice.
And why is that? I highly disapprove the American way of torturing people without a trial for over a decade. This guy got it's fair trial and I approve of that. I think you need to brush up on your reading skill.
Nope. By the ICJ. Rather sure that genocide the Serbs did is about among things massacring all the men for being men, like they did in Srebrenica.
ICJ = International Court of Justice. A court that is "International" but not able to provide some justice for the two biggest lobbyist and funders. US and UK(NATO) Some say numbers doesn't mean anything but the cause of killing Then why isn't Kravica massacre counted as Genocide? Or Operation Storm where near thousands civilians got killed and 300 000 Serbers expelled just for being Serbs(Who btw lived there longer than America has existed) Where they killed and expelled because of any other reason if not for being Serbs? You can wipe your ass with that ICJ court if I may be honest.
Since it took so long, apparently so. What am I? The ICJ? How about you e-mail them and stop harassing me. According to the UN charter article 93, all UN members are automatically all parties to that court. And so it has jurisdiction. He had a trial not just an imprisonment. It is rather custom that in severe cases people are locked up behind bars during their trial world wide.
Nicaragua won it's court case at the ICJ against the United States. So... that undermines your entire idea of the ICJ.
How is keeping someone in jail for 12 years "fair Justice" ? Certainly according to the "Bill of Rights" your definition of "Fair" is way out of whack. http://www.ushistory.org/documents/amendments.htm
When the same resolution was brought before the United Nations General Assembly on 3 November it was passed.[25] Only El Salvador and Israel voted with the U.S. against it. El Salvador's ruling junta was at that time receiving substantial funding and military advisement from the U.S., which was aiming to crush a Sandinista-like revolutionary movement by the FMLN. In spite of this resolution, the U.S. still chose not to pay the fine.
Good Post, just shows how people are blindly trusting everything the media says without any research them selfs.
The actions of the Hague with respect to keeping Vojislav Seselj in prison for 12 years for accused/unproven war crimes was itself a war crime. Such actions relegate this joke of a court to kangaroo status.
The trial lasted that long. And that includes about 2 years of him actually being sentenced to jail for crimes he committed. And if you read up about it, he trolled a lot by representing himself, and he used his time to spread his propaganda instead of getting witnesses. His illness and representing himself also adds up. Bill or rights? WTF you on about? lol
Your claim that the keeping someone in prison for 12 years represents a fair process is abject nonsense.
Correction. He spend that time because the trial lasted that long. It aint no Gitmo where people held without trial till or held without any intend to have a trial.
I do not know how to dumb it down any further for you. What part of "Speedy Trial" do you not understand ? Hint: 12 years is not the right answer.
What part do you not understand that the Bill of Rights is an American thing. And the trial was not done in America but in the Netherlands, with the rules of the ICJ? Besides that. He filed a lawsuit against the ICJ that it took too long. He lost that.
Holy carp you are hopeless. That the trial was conducted outside America does not make 12 year in custody without trial "Fair" Timely justice is part of the Rule of Law ... The "Hague Acadamy" which is based in "the Hague" teaches a course on the Rule of Law. http://thehagueacademy.com/blog/201...cOqgpr9hPluAgnBbTmW1FaUB62DMRAgrT8aAroT8P8HAQ You offer no explanation for your concept of fair justice yet come up with the most nonsensical of arguments to apologize for what is obviously unfair justice. Carry on
