Notice who has the gun. And the Gun is no AR-15 but a genuine AK-47 Who realizes the difference? The AK-47 fires a much larger round. So, who supports this girl in Gaza exercising her right to keep and bear a firearm?
There used to be a time when children would bring their rifles to school and would hunt to and from it. If she not commuting criminal acts (and by the picture I believe she in a terrorist organization) and is responsible with it then yes, I would support her having an AK.
That's how they roll over there...... If it matters I have seen kids her age shoot AK's. I could really care less, I worry about the United States... We should all carry guns here like they do.
Well, the way I see it, people freak out over Adults long in the tooth carrying such Arms, then they show a very young child that can't be 7 or 8 years old carrying a select-fire weapon that does not belong in the control of one so young, and to what end I ask, to kill others ? because she is not going Hunting or Target shooting. Or is this a posed Propaganda picture, look at what you nasty Israelis have made us do, Our children must fight and become suicide bombers etc...... Even though it is the Parents that push their children into the fight, no child will take Arms on their own volition.
I had forgotten I started this topic. But now we got around to it, it is tragic, very sad, so heartbreaking, children and handed such a gun by adults expecting them to shoot other adults and perhaps other children. It makes one sad this world is this way.
Yes, she is a little baby that should be playing with toys and have loving parents that should not want her dead so young, it is very sick, to have a gun placed in her arms rather than a puppy.
If she kills a human, she may always be a killer. As an adult, she may kill and not so much as give it a second thought. It is stunning how those people live in Gaza.
Every human being is the owner of themselves. That ownership, bestows the rights of self protection, and the rights of self protection bestow the right to own and bear weapons equal to that of your enemies'. The value of a life is equal to the value of every other life. Those who would deny the right of any person to defend themselves, is placing upon that person a lower value of their life in comparison with another.
In general, not in every case but in many cases, ownership of guns and the need/desire to own guns tends to be more prevalent in dangerous places to live. If you live in a place where almost nobody has guns then the need to have guns for protection is reduced - If you live in a place where lots of the population have guns then the need to own one to feel protected is increased. If i lived in America i'd be heavily armed at all times.
I am in favor of Arms, however, I also favor letting kids grow up as children first, playing with toys and puppies and enjoying life, with firearms training in perspective. Marching around and learning how to be a killer and how to hate, is something else entirely, Hate is a poisonous venom I would never feed a child. They are turning that poor child into a Terrorist, and that is sick, just as teaching a child to be in the KKK and to hate other Races.
I agree, but that is not what the OP posed as a question. The question was does she have the right to keep and bear arms. Anyone who's life is threatened and needs to protect themselves has that right. The people of the Middle East have been victims of violence for decades because they were unfortunate enough to be born in a place with natural resources and land that others want to steal by force.
Like Nick, I could care less what they do in their own countries. We need to butt out and let them off themselves if that is what they want to do. If that girl were HERE? Hell no she does not have the right to carry such a weapon. She isn't old enough to understand squat and the "right" comes with age. She is not of age to know anything yet.
Okay,so let's get into the 5.56 X 45 vs 7.62 X 39 debate now. What about dat dere shorter fatter bullet makes you feel it is so superior? It seems US forces feel that 5.56 is better. PS:That poor girl looks seriously traumatized.
If you want it real simple like:NO. That girl is too young for a 7.62 X 39 rifle like that. It looks like she's all militaried up when she should be playing house and with dolls.
So if your homeland was invaded and your people were being slaughtered you would not think the children had a right to defend themselves? Funny? Many children defended themselves in both world wars in Europe..... I guess it is just the children in the Middle East that do not have the right to defend themselves......
I'm not sure how relevant this is. In circumstances like this, it is impossible for the girl in the picture to have what Westerners deem a "normal" childhood. Growing up in a war means that certain behavioural and lifestyle possibilities are completely out of the question for her, and surely it would be preferable for her to know how to defend herself and not to be helpless in a situation like this? This is the crux of my issue with this "let kids be kids" stuff. It lends itself well to reductionist generalisations, but not so well to consideration of practical conditions and variables.
Are you going to put a knapsack bomb on your baby and send her to her death ??? Or train your baby to use a Gun and have her die in a Military confrontation ??? I favor training at an early age, however, that child is too young, and that picture was intentionally posed, hence the thing she is doing with with her hair / hands
You Assume I have Westerner views, and that is a load of Dingoes kidneys, you know absolutely nothing about Me, or My family, how I grew up, or where I lived, what languages I speak, suffice it to say children are pretty much the same everywhere and like to play with toys and pretend etc...... You are pretty smart, but you also are quite ignorant too.
Muslims consider dogs "unclean". Note: my uncle was about her age when he got his first rifle...and not much older (I recall he was ten) when he fired his first fully-automatic weapon. (It was a BAR.)
She is not yet ten, and kids play with dogs everywhere, funny thing, I fired a BAR, it was quite a handful for me at the time and I was an adult 25 years old, working out every day in really good shape too. Jews consider some animals unclean for eating purposes, horses and donkeys are unclean as well as dogs, they are not Kosher to eat, however, you can have them as pets, you can touch them and pet them and have physical contact to put saddles on them, harness and halters and leashes on them. I suspect you are not Muslim, as you would know that the unclean aspect applies to eating, you cannot eat certain animals as a Muslim either, you can ride a horse or a camel a donkey and have dogs to herd sheep, and all kids play with puppies, Muslims and Jews alike. FYI, I am currently non observant Jew.
He has been shooting regularly since he was six...that helped. Also, considering where he was & whose BAR is was, I suspect he used a firing stake, or even a bipod. He fired a Colt Monitor at Knob Creek a few years ago, and said it was MUCH easier to control, with almost no muzzle climb, though more recoil due to being lighter. That must be why Muslim cabbies throw seeing-eye dogs out of their cabs, then? (Only Sunni Maliki consider dogs acceptable, most consider them "unclean".)
