http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2016/08/logans_roadhouse_files_for_ban.html HYPERLINK has full story snip Logan's Roadhouse restaurant chain has filed for bankruptcy. The filing was made Monday with U.S. bankruptcy court in Wilmington, Delaware................ For the quarter ending Oct. 28, the chain saw revenue drop 9 .9 percent to $131.3 million, with same-store sales falling more than 4 percent. end snip I wonder if this revenue drop has anything to do with the fact that adjusted income continues to drop. Yes ladies and gentlemen, the BLS put out an announcement that they made a boo boo and household income is actually still dropping. So, suffice to say that restaurnats which target the average person will see revenue decreases.
there is a reason for that specific amount. that is why. if you paid attention to the arguments, you would know that.
why not? if the family who owns the local Dominos or McDonalds can easily find another $6 per hour for their 25 employees then they no doubt could easily find another $21 per hour for each of their 25 employees. You do realize that most folks who own small businesses are greedy sons-of-guns who awake each day wondering how they can abuse and exploit their employees, don't you?
When I went to Logan's it was one of the loudest restaurants I ever ate in. The food was not remarkable it was obvious it was a pick-up place. The bar took up a large portion of the restaurant sq. ft. I never went back. Applebees is their main competitor...loud, big bar but excellent food.
How can restaurants go broke if paying more wages works? http://www.restfinance.com/Restaura...Bankruptcies-Hitting-The-Restaurant-Industry/
Good point....Apparently no one wants to pay for Logan's so-so food and loud atmosphere. Simple competition...
I have not been to one. Peanuts on the floor? Sorry that sounds like a spot to trip and fall. I don't care for loud restaurants either. Not in my entire life have I liked loud restaurants. I was quite pleased when Claim Jumper showed up in this area. I went to one in S. Cal and liked it a lot. They were having fun too but for some reason the sound was not to the point it got annoying. http://locations.claimjumper.com/st...9uHUfQaPaxv_4WeQvi_GvJ-yyo2ulPSH5AaAhZS8P8HAQ
back in the day, when min wage was 50 cents they said raise it and the right made the same arguments they do today min wage needs to keep up with inflation.... simple as that, we never shoudl of let the min wage fall so far behind and while today $30 is crazy, in 100 years, maybe not - - - Updated - - - doesn't work that way, the min wage has to keep up with inflation,$30 passes that by double - - - Updated - - - republicans would probably support lowering the min wage though wouldn't they?
Hostess failed and blamed Labor. Why not return the favor. - - - Updated - - - so what. i am also advocating for fourteen dollars an hour simply for being unemployed in an at-will employment State. - - - Updated - - - according to the right, even small business Capitalists should be "too big to fail" regardless of how, "uncompetitive" they are in our modern and global economy.
See, you are in California where if you are not a Democrat, your life might be in danger once they find out about you.
No it doesn't. They have no disposable income and at $15 an hr, they still won't have any. They won't have any job either.
Oh yes, keep shrinking the economy to make these businesses suffer and then hit them with having to pay more to put them out of business....that's the socialist spirit!
This is a perfect example of the broken window fallacy (not to mention magical thinking). Wealth is not created out of thin air by mandating a wage floor. The money to pay those employees has to come from somewhere, and that will affect the disposable income of others.
that doesn't make sense. are you on the right? fifteen dollars an hour means more disposable than is available under our current minimum wage regime. - - - Updated - - - how is more Persons having more money, shrinking the economy? is trickle down the Only way the right knows how to grow an economy. - - - Updated - - - not at all, dear. capitalism requires competition. firms that remain after any consolidation will simply be more efficient in our global economy. - - - Updated - - - Yes, it is called improving our Standard of living by simple command economics. only the right is that, cognitively dissonant.
It's magical thinking. "Command economics" has only ever created mass misery and death and enriched a plutocracy that lives off that misery.
