If she accepted the results of the election she wouldn't be participating in a recount attempt. That's evidence of her refusing to acknowledge the legitimacy of the results.

She's a hypocrite, and this proves it, but then again she bragged about having one position for the public, one private.

And Trump publicall stated that if he lost the election it meant that the election was rigged. So, neither of them respect the election results.

The biggest joke of all is Trump saying that Clinton should "Respect the people's decision". The people wanted Clinton. She won the popular vote. Trump won because of the electoral college, which is filled with the same party insiders he says would rigged the election for Clinton.

I did not say regressive in any of my posts. America has been moved forward by progressives and liberals from it's inception. Originally, the US Constitution only permitted white male land owners to participate in our democratic republic. Liberals and progressives have fought that system for centuries and several changes have been enacted as a result. Slavery was permitted by the US Constitution until liberals and progressives fought to amend the Constitution. People used to be treated as inferiors because of their sexual orientation and were often refused service in public and private institutions because of that. Again, liberals and progressives fought to ensure the rights of those citizens. There are people locked in cages for decades right now for growing, smoking and selling a plant that they can grow in their own land right now, but progressives and liberals are moving to eradicate that tyrannical practice as well. All in all, it has been liberals and progressives who have worked tirelessly since the beginning of our history to ensure, life liberty and the pursuit of happiness for ALL of our citizens. Conservatives, by their very nature and definition worked against the changes throughout history as they liked things the way they were even if it was a totally unfair and rigged game.

Read the CNN piece, your answer is there. Note: there is nothing about the campaign "not respecting the results of the election" - you guys are just making this up. Also, despite repeated requests, not one person has provided a quote from Hillary Clinton saying she doesn't accept the results of the election. Still waiting.......

Why would she be participating in a recount effort, which is now going to be a contested election due to Stein missing the deadline for the recount process, if she believed the election results were legitimate? Why can't you answer that question?

In case you haven't figured it out yet, liberal progressives are a very regressive lot; and very much a threat to democracy.

Ensuring that the vote is accurate is respecting our democracy. Recounts are a normal part of the process. The real threat is dumbed-down logic and seemingly easy answers that ignore the facts. For example, verifying the vote is not rejecting the results. It verifies that the vote was honest and accurate. Rejecting it would mean that no vote count would be accepted unless she wins... you know, what Trump said.

The election is not final until all votes are counted. What part of that are you missing?

Good. I won't argue with any of this! But now we come down to how each of our major parties represents progressives and progressivism in modern America. When it comes to rights and equality, frankly, we've come about as far as we can go! Edgy youths looking for a progressive cause having been stuck fighting for gay marriage, and now that that is pretty much out of the way, they're left tilting at windmills fighting imaginary racists, or they're obsessing over matters of income and taxation rather than appreciating the system we have, which allows everyone to earn a living, including obtaining the education and skills they need, and provides adequately for those in need. Now we have conservatives looking to mix things up a bit to help businesses and working people alike, and suddenly the progressives are up in arms with false accusations of helping the ("evil") rich, who in their view need to be taxed more. It is misguided progressivism attached to group vilification that is the problem today. When that happens, there can be dangerous consequences for society as one part of it seeks to fight another unnecessarily. I see these young people imagining monsters and blaming them for all of their personal problems; they're partially self-deluded and partially manipulated by others into this, as people have a great and often dangerous capacity for shifting blame for their own problems to others.

I'm sorry, I've heard nothing about the election "being contested". I've only heard that Ms. Stein wants a recount in certain states. I haven't read any statement from Ms. Clinton about anything, nothing at all. I have read a statement from the Democratic campaign counsel (Marc Elias) about the recount but nothing from Clinton herself. Also, President Obama's Administration has squelched any thought of not accepting the election. Have you heard anything from Ms. Clinton, anything at all where she states she will contest the election results?

I don't think you can be keeping up with the times, with respect. The only active regressives on the political map today are Progressives. They want to institute a blanket fixed point, and keep us there. That is the very essence of regression (because we would ordinarily move on and change).

And you've failed utterly to define what you mean by progressive in any case. In what sense have we failed to move forward? I'm not saying I disagree, mind, because I AM a progressive - of the classical variety. I see our failure to move past the petty concerns of the 'stuck in the 20thC' self-anointed progressives as the biggest hindrance to progress. We should be focused on the bigger picture, now that the details of social comfort for rich westerners has been sorted (as it was, last century). There are still wars, still starving children, still cancer, and still no useful space exploration. Where is the progress?

Great OP. I just read through the thread and not one single lefty was able to answer the question. Lots of dodging and spinning, but no answer to the question. It is self evident that the left has NO RESPECT for the results of the election, and that they will call beating a dead horse a form of democracy if that's what it takes to win what they have already lost.

I'm not American. I'm a socialist and lifelong left voter ... and I know exactly what I'm talking about.

Whatever you appear to think progress is, is merely childish dabbling in the petty concerns of the privileged. While cancer is uncured and children are still dying from lack of food, (*)(*)(*)(*)ing preferred pronouns are an insult to the very idea of progress.

All the votes have been counted. She has already conceded the election to Trump. Now, after months of complaining about Trump not accepting the results, she isn't accepting the results.

    - - - Updated - - -

So you think Clinton's Democratic campaign counsel is not acting on behalf of Hillary Clinton?

    Wow. That's a new one.

I don't think these under-informed and sorely out of touch indoctrinates are across the very distinct difference.

There you go, resorting to the indoctrinated demonization device. Anyone who doesn't think exactly like you is a dumb-dumb. Well done. Very progressive.

Meantime, some of us are actually 'Democrats'. I'll wager that I'm significantly more left than you are. AND more liberal and more progressive.

Are the Democrats a threat to Democracy? No more than the Republicans are. What is a threat is all the power the presidential branch has amassed over the years leaving congress as basically a toothless check in the game of check and balances.

If recounts are warrented..then when that is accomplished...THAT is when all vtes have been counted.

Why do Republicans want to stop that?

Afraid you'll end up on the short side?

All of that important progress was made LAST CENTURY. It behoves us, on behalf of humanity and the planet, to move past those old battles. PROGRESS, remember. Not the same old battles fought over and over again ... against a now non-existent enemy. In fact the very lack of a real enemy is probably why this (*)(*)(*)(*) turned in on itself and became about emotional comforts for the rich and well fed.

Not agreeing with what's to be done I those 3 states but...

Doing a recount in states where vote numbers are close post election is different from saying "I'll accept the result if I win" pre election.

Didn't we go over this when 2000 election was brought to rationalize what trump said? Slow learner or just incapable of learning?

Those out there rioting, breaking properties because of the result are a threat to democracy, not those contesting results in a peaceful and legal manner.

You mean spending millions to count something that's already been counted is respecting the results? Sorry, but that's just (*)(*)(*)(*)ing hilarious.

I'm fine with them mounting legal challenges allowed by law, but I'm not fine with them funding violence and the destruction of property. I think that when riots occur, Grand Juries should be empaneled to determine who, if anyone is funding the law breaking and the destruction of property.

That is what I would focus on.

The threat from lefties is real, and it will never go away. As long as there is the promise of something for nothing, somebody will plot to get it. Each of us was born a lefty, screaming for a bottle or teat from mommy. Leftness gets passed on from one generation to the next, since our inner lefty is always there, and since leftness is innate. Two deep divers can politely share a single air bottle, but if the going gets tough, one diver will kill the other.
