Does the Left not have any hate? Are they really completely reasonable all the time? Does the Right not have a right to humor?

Conservatism turned toxic: Donald Trump’s fanbase has no actual ideology, just a nihilistic hatred of liberals
Trump's victory was the result of decades of right-wing hate rhetoric, curdling into a totally negative worldview

The horror show that was the 2016 election will be examined and reexamined for years, and depending on how bad things get, quite likely decades to come. There were, of course, a lot of factors: Cultural change, economic change, racism, liberal complacency after Barack Obama, the FBI manipulating the election, the Russian government manipulating the election, hatred of feminism and so on.

But it’s also important to notice that Donald Trump’s election is the culmination of decades of right-wing media teaching its audience that liberals are subhuman scum, and that hating liberals — whatever their stereotype of a “liberal” looks like — is far more important that minor concerns like preventing war or economic destruction.

Friday morning, the phrase “preparing for Trump” started trending on Twitter. It appears to have started with liberals tweeting out an article by Peter Dreier laying out a 10-step process to resist Trump’s attempts to turn our government into a kleptocracy at best, and a fascist state at worst. But of course the meme was soon taken over by right-wingers eager to exclaim how excited they were about the Trump presidency.

But what’s fascinating is how few of them, had anything positive to say about Trump and his coming presidency, despite their apparent love of the Great Orange Grimace. On the contrary, the contributions of Trump supporters on the thread were almost exclusively negative: They are gleefully certain that he will rain destruction on the heads of the hated liberals.

Trump’s fans on Twitter don’t seem to think that he’ll improve the economy or foreign relations or anything at all, really. In fact, they seem wholly opposed to the concept of improvement. Their worship of the man lies with their belief that he’s an agent of destruction, who will hurt people they have been trained by the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity to believe are evil.

Their rabid hate of Clinton and all things liberal would drive them to support Judas Iscariot himself if he were running for President. These are people you cannot reason with. And the proof of this is in every thread on this forum.

Your post contradicts itself. The left does the exact same thing. In fact, almost every liberal's slogan was "anyone but Trump"

Anyone but Trump. Trump is not the Republican Party. You're gonna find out real soon how little power he has when what he wants to do goes against what congress wants to do or not do. He's one man and he can't unilaterally go against the party without there being a coup.

He has even more power than he needs. Congress went Republican by a landslide.

Congress is still anti Russia and they aren't going to vote to repeal sanctions. I imagine congress and Trump have different agendas. Congress wins out, trump is just a rubber stamper.

How many members of Congress are "anti-Russia" vs. pro-business relationship with Russia? Please cite your sources so we can verify your claims.

republicans have always been anti Russia. Nothing has changed with that. The Trump administration is pro Russia and that's all that has changed.

This post drips with liberal hatred of Trump and the people who support him. It oozes vitriol from the first referring to his supporters as a fan base. Rock stars and wrestlers have fans the reference in itself smacks of the very thing they accuse Trump supporters of. On the matter of ideology it's about restoring American values the sort of things that made America great and will again. Real Americans have had enough of the irrational chaotic agenda of the left that so far has produced nothing valuable. We are sick of the convoluted social engineering, the left screwing with the language, the propagandist media and the poisoning of young impressionable minds. We are all about the Constitution and the rule of law, the sanctity of our borders, and caring for our own. We cling to our guns and bibles but are only bitter about what we lost in the last eight years. If the left really wants to know what our ideology is they should read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Why is it that conservatives are full of hate yet it's the liberals that act violently?
There is no rational arguement that can explain that away.

I'm not surprised that as a Canadian you don't understand the Republican party well. The surprise is that so many Americans of the lefty persuasion don't get it either. I think the New York Times had a headline (and I'm paraphrasing here) Trump goes against core GOP value, hatred of Russia. The New York Times is too ignorant of course to know anything about Republicans; they think David Brooks is conservative, but the truth of the matter is that the Republicans opposed the Soviet Union and were against communism. They never had anything against Russia or the Russian people.

Now even in the post cold war era, Russia is an adversary, however our relations, and dealings with them are entirely different without communism. As President Obama said, they are a regional power, they are not the Soviet Union. I don't feel we need to "hate" them, just deal cautiously with them.

And I would argue that Trump has no ideology, beyond "Gimme Money".
He's a salesman at heart, so his campaign was all about finding the right sound bytes to rile up the masses. And he did that really well.
And he didn't mean 90% of the stuff he said.

I don't recall any violent protests on the rights part when Obama was elected and then re-elected. You didn't see celebrities and others trying to influence and send death threats against electoral college voters. The left has become unhinged, the only reason places like Austin TX held peaceable protests is because there is a gun culture in Texas that would have fought back...Apparently they still fear death, more than Trump.

Trump ran a campaign based in large part on hatemongering. And hatemongering engenders strong reactions.
We hadn't seen anything like that since George Wallace, and Wallace was soundly defeated.

Well said. We have lost a lot in the last 8 years and even before that. Why can't we say "One nation under God" anymore? The left want's everything to be their way or the highway and many people are tired of it. At least the Republican party tries to connect with everybody and not just people loyal to the party and Latino's. The Democratic party has failed on every level and they still refuse to change.

Wallace was a third party candidate who was beaten by Republicans if I remember right.

What part of Trump's campaign was warmongering? The part where he want's to deport illegals and drain the swamp? I fail to see any warmongering. Hillary was the one with all of the hateful add's in Iowa but she is so much better than Trump right? Please show me how Trump is a war monger it's just not hearsay from you.

Hey didn't Turnip say he would blow Iranian sailers out of the water if they harassed the US Navy? I'm sure that's not something any rational leader would say so that's why Turnip said it.

Yeah nice one liner. No argument and the best you can do is a childish one liner.

I will point out Trump campaign in battle ground states. He connected with white working American's, the middle class and even African American's. He did campaign for them. He even had an event set up to talk to Latino's in Florida when he ran. He took 54% of the Latino vote in Florida. The Republican party connected with many American's of all races and the Democratic party only connected with Latino's who hated the idea of a wall and African American's who were brainwashed by Obama into believing Trump is a racist with no proof at all.

The Republican party took 30 of the 50 states in America. To say they did not connect with the American people is a false lie. Please don't respond if all you can do is childish one liners. I won't respond to any more of them. I don't have time to waste on people who do not really care what I have to say.

This is crazy. Why would anyone harass the US Navy unless they wanted to start trouble with us? Do we not have a right to defend ourselves? Why would the Iranians be harassing us in the first place? How is this war mongering?

If that is the best example you can come up with you have already lost. Trump's tweets are just tweets and nothing more. Actions speak louder than words. Prove to me Trump is a war monger or quit wasting my time.

Edit: The OP said Hate Mongering. My bad. So how is Trump a hate mongerer?
