Viewership is already down thanks to the nonsense of some not standing for the National Anthem , this does not bode well for the NFL

Shows have some say in what commercials are aired during their air time because the commercials will be associated (rightly or wrongly) with the show.

There's a loophole to getting around that... Nobody will care if you judge skin by its color as long as you vote, or claim that you vote democratic.

 

First of all, there's multiple reasons why viewership is down, from mediocre game play overall, bad officiating, an unusually interesting presidential election, to viewers cancelling cable in favor of Netflix or Hulu, and watching the games through online streaming. To claim low-ratings solely on National Anthem stances is insane.

But let's see how things pan out next weekend. If ratings drop even more, maybe you have a point.

 

I've noticed that over the pat 8+ years. From the time I can remember (80's), it was always Al and Jesse that pulled their hair out over unwarranted racial actions. They would make things up and roll with it. Since 2008, the entire left wing has done it.

I don't think you need cable to view any of the NFL stations besides NFL Ticket or whatever it's called. But ABC has been tanking for a while. I think it has more to do with the negative coverage of Trump mixed with PC programs, etc. Their shows are down anywhere from 8% to 40% in viewership.

 

It certainly impacted me, I didn't really do anything the first couple of times I saw it but then the dam TV camera's were making a point to single out the guys protesting and I got fed up and turned the game off a couple of different times.

I did watch two playoff games but I don't recall seeing anybody sitting or kneeling otherwise yes I would have moved onto something else. Not that the numbers are large but i've spoken to at least 3 people that stopped watching completely simply based on those events

 

You guys will whine and cry over anything, I swear I have no idea how to not hurt the delicate sensitivities of the right. All I see is a commercial for a sitcom. This is a good time to bring up political correctn, since that's what you are asking for.

Eh, I'm not gonna cut off a game over one minute of a protest that most people will promptly forget about once the game gets to quarter 2.

 

I think you can add a hell of a lot more than 4. Tons of ex military or familes of ex military take a harder stance than I do.

I generally DVR them anyway and bang them out in 45 minutes so I can skip over 75 commercials and agonizing minutes of them just standing in a huddle. zzzzz
