The founding fathers were still Christians. The separation of Church and State and the acceptance of religious freedom (provided there are no acts of sedition) was a progressive step to the founding of a modern nation.

You mean because I use your words? It's to show how silly your words come off.

Not all of them. Some just deists.
But at that time, most of Europe was christian. It was forced upon them. It is why the founders left, to leave the barbaric christian religion pushed on them.
It is also why they made freedom of religion a main topic.
To keep the USA from becoming what Europe, England in particular, had become. Barbaric.

Because it was illegal. And it was rarely punished. Just because something is illegal doesn't mean it's enforced. It's why I asked how many have been executed. You know about 3% of their population is gay as well. Are they all killed?

What is the good thing about Christianity is that it follow Christ teachings and somehow contained the teachings of the old testament in the name of civility.

    OK, 1.
    But from the link:
Amnesty said the Iranian authorities received a complaint accusing Afshar and two other adolescents of forcing a teenage boy to have sex. Afshar, who was arrested in December, 2014, said that the same-sex relations were consensual and the accuser had freely engaged in prior homosexual relations.

So it wasn't consensual, it was forced. IE rape of same sex.
Still, a bit extreme. But not unlike what many in the USA want to do to a rapist.

You repeat your previous argument - and ignore the real question. The real question is not whether rulers went to war waving a religious banner, but whether the religion actually supports going to war under those circumstances.

Nothing in the New Testament supports conversion by force, acceptance of Christianity is a voluntary act and cannot be forced, that is very clear.

Wrong. The quran is full of commandments to war against unbelievers.

Quran (8:38-39) - “Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief) their past will be forgiven... And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world ].

That is not how those Quran verses translate, and the word "fitnah" mean persecution. The actual Quran verses read

"Say to those who have disbelieved that if they cease hostilities, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them. But if they return to hostility - then the precedent of the former rebellious peoples has already taken place. And fight them until there is no fitnah and until the religion, all of it, is for Allah. And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is seeing of what they do"

and then later in the chapter it says

"And if they incline to peace, then incline to it also and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is he who is the Hearing, the Knowing"

As I don't feel like going through each person I will say the most influential Founding Fathers were definitely Christian. Certainly the Committee of Five (Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston) who drafted the Declaration of Independence were Christian. Nothing was forced upon them.

You obviously have little understanding of history and Christianity. Don't you feel embarrassed for writing such nonsense?

    Are you a Muslim convert?

You do know that there is abrogation in Islamic texts. Many of the earlier passages are superseded by later passages.

God bless you and God bless America! Americans go into every war and invasion, terrorising the world hoping and praying for God's blessing and strength. Can't see the difference to be honest. It is legitimised violence and that doesn't count....lol!

I note you omitted the Old Testament. It's still the word of your 'god' and you must obey him or you're not really a Christian. There are plenty of exhortations to kill in his name contained in that sordid tome, but it's just too convenient to ignore it and pretend that only the NT is relevant.

We can look at it if you like.

So the fundamental basis of Christianity is following the words and actions of Jesus Christ. To strive in being like Jesus Christ. Much different to who Muhammad was according to the Quran. As for the Old Testament, many Christians today still refer to it, but the striking lack in understanding is that it is God who judges and punishes, not fellow man. In Islam it is fellow man judging and punishing on the commands of their God as what is written in their Islamic scriptures. See the problem now.

Remember we are in the 21st century.

Would you be so kind as to give us some examples from the Western world were Christians actually killed someone just because a person wasn't one of them. Can you give us some examples of Christians beheading non-Christians in any contemporary European country. I can give you one example of a radical Sunni Muslim beheading a British soldier in London.

A typical comment that comes from a person who has never bothered to think about, read or understand history. Unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world, freedom and liberty come at a price, and we have a choice to rule or be ruled over within our geographical locations.

You have never bothered to think why you sleep so comfortably and safely every night under a blanket of freedom and liberty that your nation provides you. Have you?

Why only the West? A Christian is a Christian wherever he lives. Perhaps the adventures of the Lord's Resistance Army, among others, might bring things into focus for you. Religions are a global cancer. All of them, without exception, are your 'problem'.

The west only. Africa doesn't count. They're slaughtering each other regardless of their beliefs. Genocide is normal thing in Africa. Take Libya for example, Arab Libyans continue their genocidal policies towards Black Africans and no one cares about. German delegation got back recently from Libya and established that the Jews in Nazi Germany were housed better than Black Africans in Libya.

Moving goalposts won't help you. You know very well that contemporary Christianity and contemporary Islam cannot be compared. Islam is far more violent. Christianity has been systematically 'dismantled' in western Europe.

Uganda and Africa, really? Wow? You do realise that Idi Amin is considered to be one of the most ruthless, barbaric, violent, destructive and merciless despotic tyrants to have ever reigned in the modern era; that was also a Muslim and was provided safe exile in Saudi Arabia.

I see, so Christians don't count if they're not your preferred kind of Christians? Do you know how stupid that is? I'm not the one moving goalposts; that would be you doing religious cherry-picking for your convenience. Christians are committing the most vile atrocities, but because they're black and 'over there somewhere' they don't count? Get a grip mate; seriously.
