Singing ‘hit, hit Zionists,’ thousands rally against Israel in Istanbul Thousands of supporters of a conservative Turkish party rallied in Istanbul on Sunday to protest security measures taken by Israel in Jerusalem — removed last week — and show solidarity with the Palestinians. Israel removed the security measures. But tensions remain high in Turkey, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan saying the removal of the detectors was “not enough.” The Islamist party’s leader, Temel Karamollaoglu, told the crowd that Muslims would not give up on Jerusalem. Tensions between Israel and Turkey have been high since the showdown over the Temple Mount security measures. Erdogan had panned Israel for use of “excessive force” against Muslim worshipers during clashes in the area. “Israeli soldiers are defiling Al-Aqsa with their combat boots by using simple excuses to easily shed blood there,” he said at an AKP faction meeting last week, referring to the mosque that sits on the mount along with the Dome of the Rock. Hitting back, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday accused Erdogan of hypocrisy. “It would be interesting to see what Erdogan would say to the residents of northern Cyprus or to the Kurds. Erdogan is the last person who can preach to Israel,” a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said. http://www.timesofisrael.com/singing-hit-hit-zionists-thousands-rally-against-israel-in-istanbul/ ---------- That is quite the crowd! They are definitely serious. Good for them to show some solidarity with the Palestinians, while Erdogan and Netanyahu are having a little tiff.
Yeah it really is. I just came across this video on Sputnik and the cruelty freaked me out. For heaven's sake they're only kids, and it's not that they want to stay in Turkey. This is why the Greeks can't send the migrants back.
Truth is Jeanette Refugees have a hard time in most places. https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/n...es-attacked-and-in-hellish-conditions-on-kos/ Of course in both Greece and Turkey the majority will not act like this.
Couple of days ago, a strong storm with very heavy hail ( big as tennis balls ) hit Istanbul. I think Allah is trying to tell his Turkish followers something...
Jew settlement expansions across the Israel border are real. The only thing that is pure fiction is claiming nobody was using that.
Erdo the idiot doing his best to fan the flames like the moron he is. Especially since it was an arab muslim who murdered two Israeli guards at the compound - arab Israelis, no less - that started this endeavor in the first place. Isn't it funny how in Israel or the Western countries we don't see mass demonstrations like this every time a muslim terrorist kills someone. They'd be out there screaming and howling like mad 24 hours/day. In other news, the weather in Sri Lanka is expected to be sunny today...
Just shows you Jews have no problem that you lot get to ethnic cleanse Palestinians across the border. And claim you're all innocent when the fight is taken to you.
Well, someone had the nerve to charge Israel with misconduct towards journalists! 'Shameful': Foreign Press Association files legal petition over 'violent' Israeli treatment The Foreign Press Association (FPA) has submitted a petition to Israel's High Court of Justice, claiming authorities used violent tactics against journalists trying to cover unrest in Jerusalem. It called the government "shameful" for "standing by silently." The petition, filed Wednesday, demands that police cease their blocking of local and foreign journalists from the Temple Mount, the site of recent unrest following Israel's decision to install security cameras there last month. It goes on to claim that barring reporters from the site was done without any legal authority, and that journalists were often targeted with verbal and sometimes physical abuse by Israeli forces, the Times of Israel reported. The document references a specific case in which a Reuters cameraman was hospitalized with a concussion after allegedly being assaulted by an Israeli officer. .... "The Israeli government has stood by silently - a shameful performance for a country that boasts that it is the Middle East's only democracy and claims to be committed to freedom of the press," the statement says, adding that the organization was "left with no choice" but to pursue legal action. Read on here: https://www.sott.net/article/358280...legal-petition-over-violent-Israeli-treatment ---------- That must have taken a bit of courage to complain, but I'm glad they did. The IDF violence is known far and wide, and the Palestinians suffer it daily.
The freedom for the press in Israel is just poor. They can arrest reporters and keep them locked up away from their lawyers for as long as they want under their military rule. They frequently place bans on what the press may comment on, to than tell the public "their reality" of the "truth". The Israeli ways have been ranked on par with countries like Mozambique, Kosovo, North-Cyprus.
And here I thought Istanbul was the good ones. The more European, enlightened ones. The bad ones coming from the Anatolian plateau. My mistake
Rather hilarious from the poster extolling Turkey in the OP. Perhaps you can inform yourself of the treatment of journalists under the Erdo regime or in your other pet locations like iran, gaza and russia, to Israel. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...alists-solitary-confinement-maltreatment-jail Revealed: the terror and torment of Turkey's jailed journalists "Prisoners tell of solitary confinement and maltreatment after being caught up in ‘Kafkaesque’ media purge" https://www.pri.org/stories/2017-06...her-nation-those-detention-are-all-terrorists "Turkey jails more journalists than any other nation." ============================== Oh that's, right - facts aren't of interest to you, it's all about bashing Israel, that's all that counts. Facts aren't useful to the racists and the jews haters.
I'm no fan of Erdogan, but I must reluctantly give credit where credit is due for the courage of the protestors to stand with the Palestinian people and against the criminal Israeli government. Bravo.
If you'd said that about Jews you would have been banned in a heartbeat. Double standards on this forum?
No, they were before this bastard Erdogan raised power and started to Change the Democracy into a full dictatorship which they are now. - Free media and press? Eliminated! Any Opposition media is eliminated and journalists jailed due to be suspicious terrorists - Free and Independent Justice? Eliminated! Any judges and attorneys which are not liked by Erdogan and his fascist AKP are fired and many also jailed to be suspicious terrorists - Democratic parliamentarian opposition? Eliminated! Any opposition politicians who are too much in opposition are jailed to be suspicious terrorists!
Well ... as far as I agree with you that Israeli government is criminal in many aspects, I must clearly say that this protest as any protests of Turkish government fans like here is ridiculous and a paid action by Erdogan! It is not other as these mass protests as in North Korea showing thousands of people being so upset about the USA!
When thieves fall out, honest men have their day, perhaps. Never mind - the Saudi and Zionist saints are coming to love one another more by the day!
And that's really what its always been about. Islamic leaders are not interested in the Palestinian people other than for propaganda purposes - they only want the Jews, and all other religions, out of the Middle East. There's a related thread on Australia, and many are aware of the terrorism going on around the rest of the world, with western Europe presently getting much of the media attention. But it's an international religious struggle the world is facing yet Atheists, Christians, Jews and all non-Muslims know little about it, or are in denial.
