I blame God for creating tornadoes in the first place. He's such a psycho that he created cancer - a complete uncaring imbecile. Is god powerful enough to give us the final cure for cancer, or is he a royal prick?
I know it is, and you know God loves us. We don't have God's wrath in England. Allah's wrath maybe, but Gods? Nope.
Try being a gay man in the height of the AIDS epidemic, but before a lot of press went to the sufferers who were hemophiliac like Ryan White, or babies born to women who were HIV positive. Some of these pastors sold their congregations that there was a duty to shun an entire community when they most needed the exact opposite as part of Gods plan. Often when society wants to exploit the ideal of God to suggest punishment, you know its really about social control, rather than morality.
I watched Pompous Pence thank god for sparing people - I wanted to ask him - Why did god send the rain in the first place???
Earlier this week I was thinking "Some fundamentalist bigot somewhere is blaming Harvey on teh geys," and then lo and behold, Ann Coulter got on Twitter.
I guess he could if he hates everyone who falls and dies from the fall. After all if he is the creator he created gravity. God created gravity just to kill those he does not like. Likewise he only created hurricanes to kill those he does not like. So, going by your OP, this is an illustration of faux liberal logic in full bloom. LOL But if dems were logical, rational beings, they would never have voted for Clinton, but for sanders since this was a change election and the only change Hillary was about was getting the last few cents in our pockets. Ironic that Hillary voters elected trump, ain't it? LOL And now they hate the very man they indirectly elected. They should really hate themselves. I sure detest them for aiding and abetting the banana republic behavior and principles of the DNC.
I don't know about God, but I've got love for Texas, family in Sugarland, friends in Missouri City, and Austin is on my bucket list.
According to Joel Osteen God gave Teas the hurricane because he wanted to compliment them. http://www.rawstory.com/2017/09/tak...-harvey-was-sign-god-knows-you-can-handle-it/ ‘Take it as a compliment’: Joel Osteen tells victims Harvey was sign God ‘knows you can handle it’ "Megachurch pastor and “prosperity gospel” adherent Joel Osteen told victims of Hurricane Harvey that the suffering inflicted upon them by the storm is a “compliment” from God, who sees the survivors as tough enough to “handle it.” According to Mediaite.com, Osteen was preaching his first Sunday sermon since the storm and the controversy that descended upon him when he refused to open his Lakewood Church megachurch premises to house people displaced by the storm. The week since has been a turbulent one for Osteen, but he assured his flock on Sunday that God is trying them all because he loves them and believes that they are strong enough to persevere." So when you have a super major disaster remember that Yahweh is complimenting you.
G-d......... gives us warnings when G-d wants us to make some significant changes........ I believe that those fifty inches of rain are a symbol of a massive out pouring of the Holy Spirit that G-d wanted to give in Texas but......... .... we were all too busy being rather lukewarm / Laodicean so instead of that Jubilee outpouring being able to come metaphorically in a massive awakening in Texas..... in came literally in fifty inches of rain. If we reject the good metaphorical meaning of what G-d wants to give us...... we may receive something similar...... but could be negative and kind of scary! Over the last forty years I ran into some people who were really good at explaining allegories and metaphorical meaning. I tried my best to pass on some of their potentially quite encouraging ideas here: http://www.politicalforum.com/index...oom-and-doom-prophecies-be-an-alegory.443380/ Could ninety percent of gloom and doom prophecies be an alegory?
Let me know when you come by and first round is on me. I can also help you avoid some overrated BBQ. But, for the love of all that is holy, come in late fall or winter. All I ask for in return in some combination of shortbread, rhubarb and/or tea.
How is Austin after Harvey? I'm not going to lie... I am looking at America as different trips. Right now I'm planning one, but I'm also looking at other trips after in the US. I look at a map of America, and think what trips I can do, like mini tours of regions. Austin, sounds like either it's own trip or, a bunch of other trips I can think of where Austin could be cool.
