Once again the narcissist in the Oval office has managed to steal the limelight. In an event that is suppose to honor the Cherokees, Trump managed to turn it into more campaign fodder.

Also, another thing regarding Trump being a "decent acting president," I seem to remember him talking **** about John McCain for being a war hero who got captured. This is the same man who has also been going on about the NFL players disrespecting the flag and veterans while he openly talked down to one of those same people he feels are being disrespected?

What war did Trump serve in again? How many years a vet is he?

There's also him bitching about not being selected for TIME Magazine's person of the year award. As well as how he's being attacked unfairly, as if he wasn't doing a portion of the attacking for the previous administration.

Bonus points for him getting big mad at John Lewis calling him an "illegitimate president" earlier this year when he himself was piggybacking off of Hilary, calling Obama "illegitimate" because he didn't see his BC.

Enough. She was recruited from Harvard. She was a highly prized and sought after professor, and did NOT check a box to gain any AA status.


"Warren graduated from the University of Houston in 1970 and got her law degree from Rutgers University in 1976. She did not seek to take advantage of affirmative action policies during her education, according documents obtained by the Associated Press and The Boston Globe.

Her first job was at Rutgers Law School in 1977. The Globe obtained a portion of Warren’s application to Rutgers, which asks if prospective students want to apply for admission under the school’s Program for Minority Group Students. Warren answered “no.”

For her employment documents at the University of Texas, Warren indicated that she was “white.” She has done cutting edge research. Harvard Law wanted to have her in because of that.

At the time she was hired at Harvard in 1995, Charles Fried was the head of the Harvard appointing committee that recommended Warren for her position. He has been quoted several times that her heritage didn’t come up during the course of her hiring. “It simply played no role in the appointments process,” he said. “It was not mentioned and I didn’t mention it to the faculty.”

The Herald also quoted Charles Fried as saying, "In spite of conclusive evidence to the contrary, the story continues to circulate that Elizabeth Warren enjoyed some kind of affirmative action leg-up in her hiring as a full professor by the Harvard Law School. The innuendo is false… I can state categorically that the subject of her Native American ancestry never once was mentioned.” He is very much a Republican — former U.S. Solicitor General under President Ronald Reagan.

The announcement of her hire that year in the Harvard Crimson did not mention her lineage or say that she was the law school’s first Native American faculty member. It is pretty certain that they would have if it had been something they were hiring her for. That year the ethnic studies movement was gathering force on the college's campus and there was continued controversy over the lack of diversity at the law school. "Liz Warren is a spectacular addition to our faculty," Law School Dean Robert Clark told the Crimson. "She is a leading scholar in the fields of bankruptcy and commercial law, and she is one of the rare legal academics to have devoted herself to a large-scale empirical research project of great relevance to legal policy making." Three years later when they hired Lani Guinier and said she was "the first female African-American professor in the 181-year history of HLS." Guinier was quoted as saying: "Though I am the first woman of color to join the tenured faculty, I know that I will not be the last.” It seems if it was known that Warren was a minority hire then that would not have been said.

Law School Professor Laurence H. Tribe, who voted to tenure Warren and was also involved in recruiting her said: "Elizabeth Warren's heritage had absolutely no role in the decision to recruit her to Harvard Law School… Our decision was entirely based on her extraordinary expertise and legendary teaching ability. This whole dispute is fabricated out of whole cloth and has no connection to reality."

Literally, can anyone take ms Warren seriously after it's been divulged that she authored a book or contributed to a book called "Pow Wow Chow"? And worse, that she cribbed the recipes from others?

 

I hold him to the same standard I hold reality. I don't hold anti-Trumpers to any certain standard though. I've come to realize that they'll point their fingers at him and his supporters for everything they're guilty of. It's old and stale, the flavor is gone. That's why people like you are shrugged off all the time.

 

She has used her claimed minority status to gain advantage. That's dishonest.
