Well that needs to change, and is part of the problem. But you need the carrot that brought the illegal in. The employer. Take away the carrots and the rabbits will not come. This can be done simple enough, just legislate a mandatory prison sentence and large fine. If catching criminal employers slows down, give the public an 800 number to call to turn in an employer breaking the law, for a reward. Say 500 bucks if the employer is caught.

Obviously since we will not do what would work the best, this is evidence congress does not really want to stop illegal immigration. They just put on a theater for their average american voter, trying to make them think they want to fix this problem, which never comes to pass. It took trump to get the ball rolling again. I would imagine lobby groups like the national chamber of commerce are throwing some money at congress, to keep some access for the illegals to keep coming here. For they want illegals for their members. Businessmen who want cheap labor. And don't mind breaking the law to get it. Your common criminal, but perhaps with shirt and tie.

I do agree though that once we can clean out the illegals, much of them, that this will open up jobs for americans, as soon as these employers increase their wages to what they should be for legal american citizens. Which would be rather fast. For if we cleaned out the construction workers here who are illegal and are beginning to come back slowly, after leaving post 08 crash, wages would have to go up for those companies using illegals today. My son in law a contractor, went out of business during the last housing boon, because of the number of illegal aliens hired by her competitors. On the cheap. He refused to break the law and had problems winning bids for new jobs. Of course when the other company's labor cost was 1/2 to 2/3rds of your labor costs, using americans, well, you just get underbid. So, this is how it affects americans in the real world that I live in.

The world is filled with poor. We have to allow that problem to be dealt with by their own nation. We simply do not have a money tree and cannot take in the world's poor without destroying ourselves. We can help other nations, if we have the money, but being a dumping zone for the poor and uneducated will only turn us into what they left, poor and uneducated.

We are a nation of consistently evolving laws. This is where conservatism by nature loses. Traditionalism is the victim of the future. Older laws get replaced with new ones, or are revised. That’s just how America works.

That’s why it’s important to have DACA and the Temporary Protection Status. I read an article tonight of a Salvadoran who is suffering from leukemia here in the states, and will lose his support if his mother is deported. This is how deportation is one of the most inhumame tactics we can use before getting to torture.

From what I can tell from a little bit of searching, Indian Americans are split between dems and reps. They did tend to give more money to the rep party overall than to dems.

I've also found that most Mexican immigrants vote dem by a wider margin.

I have no solid proof, but it does make me wonder how they chose to start with Indian immigrants when there are many more Mexican immigrants and they both might be considered minorities. One thing that stood out was immigrants from India seem more prone to disliking Muslims. I don't know if that is a major factor or not.
