Correct, but the people outside the city vote. It's a matter of the total per state and their Electoral Votes. Remember 2016? LOL

Why is this a big deal? Once again this sounds like much to do about nothing. If anyone else had said it was a shithole no one would care. But we live in a time so caught up with partisan bs that suddenly people will deny what any other day they'd grant without a passing remark. Haiti is a shithole. Is that racist, because Trump suggested he'd prefer Norweigan immigrants? Well he also mentioned wanting immigrants from Asian countries - typical white supremacist, wanting Asians to immigrate.

This is quickly becoming a farce. It has nothing to do with race and you all know it. North Korea: that's a shithole. South Korea: that' a nice place. Both are Korean. It's not about race.

I was not clear. Since you allege to be a teacher, I tried not to post in baby steps.

The public away from cities all over this country tend to not want to be in the Democratic party.

If you connect the dots, for some corny reason, living in a city appears to change your politics.

the founding fathers of America were immigrants from northern europe, those are the superior europeans.

our President is of northern european ancestry, not eastern or southern european.

Apparently you haven't heard the kinds of things our allies have been saying about this. They think it's a big deal. Why don't you?

racists won because they are more merciful to the slave, that would make those who are not racist the greater evil in this democracy of the modern world.

We need balanced immigration of high skills people only

What trump is reacting to is the deliberate attempt by liberals to change the democraphic balance by bring in large numbers of africans and hispanics with low skills

Read the post he actually responded to. It was a completely bogus tweet about brown people. People are so easily deceived by lies.

What skills could people escaping from desperately poor countries have? They come here because they have no employment there and if you have no employment you by definition have no skills

The best and brightest immigrants may vote democrat because that has always been their history

And because they know physics or math better than they understand American politics

Under merit based immigration low skill people will not be allowed to move here either by a lottery visa or chain migration

Every country has some skilled people or bright students who may want to study in the US

Yeah and the tweet was a complete fabrication. But people want to believe lies if it supports their positions. People need better sense.
Read the fake tweet about brown people that was quoted. It was an absolute lie. Get a frikin' clue.

No what Democrats want is a balanced immigration policy that blends the needs for high skill with our responsibilities to provide refuge from humanitarian and political disasters.

Your claim that bringing in even a million low skilled people who are somehow all going to vote never mind vote Democratic is total nonsense.

But Trump has said that being a Hollywood celebrity is proof of being a genius so obviously we should respect the overwhelming concensus of Hollywood about Trump.

We differ on that. And I am not even a Christian. I think it is always the responsibility of the more sucessful to help those in need whether domestically or internationally.

Christian responsibility is to spread the Good News of eternal salvation to all corners of the globe

Not bring all corners of the globe here

You seem quited fixated on the word, "bastard". :cynic: . Well, as the children say, "...whatever." I can think of far worse things to say to describe these creatures that invade the United States illegally!

If the "bastards" or any other citizen of other countries wants to immigrate to the United States and they meet the legal requirements, they should be welcome to apply legally -- on a person-by-person basis, with no 'quotas', 'set-asides', or any other consideration.

They should be persons who bring a background of distinction, merit, and usefulness to our country. All applicants for immigration to the U. S. should prove that they are able to finance and completely support themselves without any welfare or income supplementation from the government.

On that basis, all should be welcome to apply legally -- Africans, Norwegians, et al. BUT, again, the consideration for each person should be on the basis of the qualifications of THAT one individual person -- with no supplemental social-worker's 'wet-dream' nonsense relating to quotas-by-countries, racial background, "diversity", or "inclusiveness". Now, am I finally getting through? And remember, 'if it isn't good for America, it isn't good at all!'

Can you propose an immigration methodology that would be more fair than what I've suggested...?
