California city to experiment with 'universal basic income'

With the exception of the elderly and disabled, our society has become a bunch of lazy, wimpy, pansies who don't have a clue of basic survival skills/instincts. They don't know what a true hard day's work is and have no interest in finding out. I'm not interested in supporting these people.

 

I am so thrilled and delighted to see this kind of collectivist-Socialism blossoming in Kalifornia! Movements like this will act like as a magnet to all the vagrant bums, panhandlers, and other "camper" trash that litter too much of Colorado from Denver all the way down to Pueblo. They came here in larger and larger numbers to get at legal marijuana (their words, not mine), but now if they can get free money, welfare-for-life, endless amounts of drugs of all kinds, and enjoy a less forbidding winter climate that lasts for months, then I hope this latest initiative sends them packing immediately!

Personally I don't like Marxism. That doesn't help with the inherent inequality in the kleptocapitalist society we have constructed.

 

Why work?

 

Universal income is not designed to replace work. It is designed to replace food stamps and the like and maintain a very basic minimum living standard.

Plus, some people cannot work.

Inherent flaws in the kleptocapitalist society have created this necessity. We have a moral duty to assist our brothers and sisters.

Americans need help.

 

Income inequality isnt an issue if there is opportunity equality. I know of no structural areas in which we have any lack of opportunity.

 

Well you and I both know that they would spend the money the first weekend they had it, but it wouldn't be on food or any other necessities. Then they'd whine that they're starving and have no food. Let them starve.

My youngest son is taking classes at a community college. He has had a few classmates who were there on pell grants. Once they received their money, they used the excess of things like a used dirtbike and one got some new tires and rims. After that, many of them stopped showing up for class. They had a free opportunity and didn't take it. The liberals will want to then give these losers more of our tax money.

We are paying out of pocket for his tuition because we work and pay taxes. Seems fair, right?

It's not "their" taxes, it's other people's tax money. If they pay $500 in federal taxes and receive a refund of $4000, it's not "their taxes".
