Or, there could just as equally have been Russians who were supporting Hillary and spreading lies about Don. Or as you mentioned, in the current landscape, it would seem Russians might be more interested in trying to undermine the current administration. You seem oblivious to this.

I think people should be more concerned by the willingness to convict based on accusation, rather than embracing some objectivity when reading headlines.

As evidenced by the mass media efforts containing deceit and fraud, it's clear there is a campaign underway to sway opinion by false accusation. From that, people are willing to declare the target of such campaigns guilty, before any real evidence is presented.

I contend people need to be more discrete in their reactions and responses. As evidenced by the indictments, it appears rather simple to tweak public reaction and response. That indicates to me a difficulty by the population to apply objectivity. What appears to be happening is people simply look for confirmation bias, and embrace it when found.

I think I understand what you are saying. Unfortunately we are living in a time in which the social media outlets, cable and other platforms are owned or sponsored by either profit driven organizations or those with an agenda.

I'm not interested in the party politics. I'm focused on the issue and how to protect our democracy and our country. Some accusations are worthy of investigation.

 

I have my doubts The similarities of new posters and their immediate targeted and badgering of others right out of the gate is out right obvious The thing you learn on any forum is no matter the chosen persona of the Sock Puppet, eventually they will slip out of character and old habits always give them away

The problem with donation based forums is they are slow to make the call because there is always that chance for a buck or two! But the reality is people with alts don't donate on sock accounts, they just use bandwidth and give the sysop a false user number and in the end causes them to spend more for resources that are essentially ghosts

I'm not suggesting accusations be ignored. I think protecting our democracy requires "us" to be more objective and less emotional. It seems to me, we're in a period where emotions are becoming a basis for policy, rather than simply a catalyst for discussion.

When we start convicting people in one way or another simply because they have personal views that are different, we're in a very bad place. Political Correctness is an example of this problem.

Yes, people are angry for a variety of reasons but you seem to be focused on only one side's argument while dismissing the other side as emotional reactions. Many times great things are accomplished because they were provoked by emotion.

I don't want to digress so I apologize. People look for leadership and for many in this country there doesn't seem to be leadership for all.

I agree, PC resulted in unintended consequences. It was an overreach and continues to be. Lessons have not been learned.

 

That's simple enough! Just track your reps voting records and when election roll around, "FILTER OUT" all the rhetoric and view the words the candidate says and use your own logic and raw data to make your decisions!

 

A Democratic Republic does not always insure that it's elected leaders represent everyone's wants and needs. It's not possible for a multi-party system to put leadership in place that will cause people to believe a leader from another party represents them.

It is incumbent for all citizens to understand that fact and accept the results. We have entered a period where significant effort is being expended to convince people otherwise.
