There are some who say every child deserves to have a father and then there is the question of who is going to be held accountable for child support. Of course it will still be possible for women to utilize the services of a sperm bank with the consent of her husband. there's also a discussion about this on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/5xywu6/sperm_banks_should_be_illegal_for_single_women/ In France, Italy, and Sweden, single women are forbidden from using artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization to conceive. Sweden requires couples to have a stable relationship for at least a year to qualify for fertility treatment. Switzerland requires couples to be married. Marie Eriksson, a 36-year-old single mother in Sweden, described the restrictions as prejudice. "Having a child is not a right, but the possibility should not be forbidden because you don't have a partner," she said.
If she is financially capable of raising a kid without state support, let her have the sperm. Otherwise, the guy who impregnates her must pay child support to her. I think most lesbian couples would have the ability to raise a kid. It is some of the single women who should not be allowed access without proof of financial capability. I heard Sweeden was going to let guys cut their parental ties during pregnancy and let the woman choose an abortion or to raise it without him. I saw he can't leave the tax payers on the hook. If you put your penis in a woman, 1. You must inform her before sex that you don't want to be a father, and 2. be prepared to cover her anyway if she is not financially capable at the time. Basically: OK to impregnate professional women and leave. Not OK to impregnate teens and 20 year olds.
They are not prejudice. They are socialist. Sweden is one model of Scandinavian socialism our country is pushing to have. So many tout more freedom! Yeah, sure.
However, I do not think it's a terrible idea to have standards that prevent issues within the nation. Whether it is capitalism or socialism, these issues will need addressed.
If that is true about Sweden that is disgusting. What they are saying is men have all the choices and women have none
How about we not micro-manange people's family structure and just leave this decision up to the parties who contract for the service.
They can go old school and I am sure idle teenage boys will help out. Why do Folks think bans will solve all societal Woes ?
Women yet again getting a benefit that men do not and at the cost of society paying her tax benefits and her putting the children at risk for not having two parents. Seriously, she should adopt a child without parents otherwise find someone who would make a good father.
So you object to 3.59 cents of your taxes being used in that manner ? Children at risk for not having two parents and find a good Father. Wow !
In the percentage of taxes in a pie chart, the average each person pays for various social programs is around that much.
Exactly what is the benefit that men do not get? You mean they have to pay for their part of their own children’s support? I would never call a child who didn’t have two parents at risk. I think they are much more at risk with two parents who do not love each other or one parent is abusive. I think you are overgeneralizing. Daddy gets the same tax benefits.. For some reason I get the feeling that you think a father has the right to just disappear from his child’s life even though it’s his own flesh and blood
Men don't have access to artificial uterus and donated eggs so cannot become single parents without a female partner like a woman can.
I wouldn't argue with these women, @GrayMan. They think they are fighting for women's rights, not the health of children or the good of a society.
Men can use a surrogate without the pleasure of nine months of health risks and the agony of childbirth.
This was posted...so I am just responding . Is that ok? You should attack The guy who posted this.... “heard Sweeden was going to let guys cut their parental ties during pregnancy and let the woman choose an abortion or to raise it without him. I
Sometimes the best lessons I’ve ever given are ones that veered off topic.....but this happens to be topic related....
