So, he wants those trying to escape from some drug lord to sit at specific crossing points, waiting to see if we process their request faster than they are found.

Yeah, the drug lords are all going to cross multiple borders to kill groups of hundreds of refugees in sight of the american border checkpoints. Yeah, I don't think so. And you seriously think all the claims of seeking asylum are legitimate?? No, they are coached to say those magical words.

And how about this? instead of so many hundreds fleeing, how about they try fighting back? "IMPOSSIBLE!" the left will scream. "Sick Bastards!" they will say of anyone asking these guys to fight back. It IS possible, and honestly, if we want to help these immigrants, we should be supplying them with military hardware and some training.

 

When Americans are separated from their children it is after they have been convicted of a crime. That difference shouldn't be too subtle for you Trump supporters.

So, to stop this ridiculous flood of refugees, let's do what is best for our country and stamp out the problem that is sending refugees this way. Unleash 7th Special Forces Group, supply resistance groups with arms, park a carrier battle group off the coast, and lets fix the problem. I bet the drug lords calm down real quick.

 

I believe that the U.S. government should always put the interests of U.S. citizens ahead of citizens of other nations, absolutely. I believe that allowing in illegal immigrants that will prove to be a financial burden to US taxpayers and will increase crime is less moral than opening the floodgates.

 

As for the "war on drugs", let's remember that the major drug traffic is NOT using the illegal crossing points of the land border with Mexico.

Let's also remember that for a DECADE now, the number of undocumented aliens in the US has not been rising.

Trump is clearly working this issue for its political value - in fact, he has STATED that.

 

Already documented that illegal immigrants commit less crimes than American citizens. And the issue of the financial burden caused by illegals has not been proven. In fact most data would indicate they are a net financial benefit.

And all of that is irrelevent to the moral obligation to treat people whether Americans or foreigners with decency and respect. Trump is turning the " Shining City On A Hill " into " A Shitty City On A Hill"

 

However, those are not the choices.

The choice Trump just advocated was to deny these people rights of due process - something guaranteed by our constitution.

And, again let's remember that the number of undocumented aliens in the US has not been rising for a decade now.

Nobody is advocating "opening the floodgates". The floodgates got closed - by Obama.

 

I don't care about the flow of drugs into the country. Hell, legalize them all. If people want to ruin their lives, that's on them. I'm worried about stamping out the cause of so many people seeking asylum.

 

Well, I don't see ANY policy or plan that claims to be stamping out the cause of so many people seeking asylum within our lifetimes - or, more importantly, their lifetimes.

 

There isn't any that I know of. But there should be. The problem has become too politicized to let it continue. The root cause needs to be addressed. Too many people seeking asylum? Change the conditions that are causing people to seek asylum. Kill the drug lords like we kill terrorists, because that is what they are.

 

Many of these asylum seekers are coming from other countries where government is part of the problem.

Plus, we do not know how to kill the drug lords.

 

What law says they can't come here for refugee status?
Many come here to work, and because the immigration system is f'd up, they tend to stay rather than risk not coming back for work again.

So, they come here, for the same reason your ancestor did. It's not their fault our system is f'd up.

 

The rate of crime by undocumented aliens is LOWER than the crime rate among citizens. Plus, legal aliens are even LESS likely to commit crime:

If you want to reduce crime, we have to go after crime - NOT after those who immigrated illegally, and CERTAINLY not against those who are here legally.
