I hope that was sarcasm because Trump would certainly accept if it was given him and an original copy of the Constitution was a gift for him to wipe his ass.
Well we can all wish we had better, imaginary choices than the actual ones that our political system offered up to us, however there were reasons we got the choices that we had, and there is no point making the perfect the enemy of the good.
Yes, it did. Hoping for mediocre to choose from and getting disgusting is getting more and more disheartening. I am trying to empty the ocean with a teaspoon. That's how hard it is to even hope for mediocrity in government. /sigh. We had **** versus **** to swallow. I'm sick of it.
We have a long list of presidents who were mediocre. Obama is just one of many. In my lifetime, mediocre is a giant achievement.
2.9 million more Americans voting for the P-Grabber's opponent has been followed by the majority's relentless disapproval of him. Even the minority who have worshiped Lyin' Don as their messiah are beginning to lose their adamantine gullibility:
Personally, I would not have been "happy", but I would have been "relieved." In any event, the damage has been done, and Americans will get to formally register their opinion in 54 days.
Trump is quickly reducing the power of the central government by eliminating regulations. Just elect more anti-establishment candidates. We don need no stinkin dictator.
We voted for Trump knowing full well he was an arrogant clown because we felt we HAD to do whatever it took to defeat Hillary. We (my wife and I) felt that even a total upheaval of the political establishment would be easier to make it through compared to the direction that smarthy, wicked witch would have taken our country should she have been elected. Although we do, of course, cringe at the bluster and demeanor of our president from time to time, the vitriol and actions by the democratic party to take him down with total disregard for anything positive he has done, or ever will do, only serve to stiffen our resolve to vote wherever we can to support conservative candidates. Hopefully candidates which are not too far right. We are disappointed that the GOP continues to be stuck in the muck of the establishment swamp. We feel the time is upon us when a new centrist party could emerge from the abyss created by such a wide division between left and right in this country.
I was both happy and relieved that Clinton lost, and now hoping the mid term elections will result in change needed for Trump to begin undoing some of the damage that has been done.
I voted, "other...I will explain" First I supported sanders. Did not vote for hillary nor trump. But I did listen to trump's campaign speeches and agreed with him on some issues. Like going after these free trade deals that have devastated working americans. And I supported his general position on foreign policy which looked like anti neocon foreign policy, except when it came to Iran. So on those issues that I agree with him, I still support his campaign positions. I did not support his tax changes, but do support him taking on free trade, and trying to bring manufacturing back to the US. As any real, old time democrat would do. I also support him on illegal immigration, although going after employers in a harsh manner is the only thing that will ever work to minimize illegal immigration. Without that, any such wall will never fix this problem.
Clinton was the ultimate establishment stereotype during an anti-establishment zeitgeist, was not "likable enough", and had been subjected to a relentless fatwa by right wing entertainers, their trained parrots, and GOP congressmen such as Issa and Gowdy. Despite their heroic efforts, they found none of the criminal activities alleged (although crackpots still screeched "Lock her up! Lock her up!" as if this were a sh¡thole nation where due process is sniveled at and political opponents routinely jailed.) If the majority of American voters had gotten their way, Lyin' Don would still be whining, even more than he is now - horrific as that is to contemplate. Once the Cry Baby ran, there was no escape. November 6 will initiate the national redemption.
Nothing to regret, Hillary has zero power, America wins! The courts are getting right, immigration is being dealt with significantly better, the economy is booming. You folks should stop whining and start enjoying the vast improvement to America that Trump has fostered...
I don't like to even think of the consequences of our elected officials being decided by the voters of only huge cities. It's painfully obvious those voters cannot see past their outstretched hand, and thus their electorate just players in a game of "we the power, you the powered". Their message is basically "shut up and vote for us that give you your crumbs".
Voted Third Party, as the offerings by the R and D's was pretty noxious. I believe we should do away with the two party system altogether, but I'll save that for another thread. I am not a Trump fan, but at least he has done a couple things well.... the truth of it all won't show for a few more years, so I'll with hold judgement until then, but it could have been soooo much worse.
Because Hilary was not put in jail does not mean she did not break the law. She very clearly broke the law (and multiple times) regarding classified material.
