Jews and Arab Muslims date their claims to the land back a couple thousand years, the current political conflict began in the early 20th century. This hate crime in Pittsburgh had nothing to do with the Arab/Jewish conflicts in the Middle East. This was about anti-Semitism for whatever reason. Who knows what the thinking of a radical is or why he thinks that way. His alt-right thinking was enabled and emboldened by others whether it was on his white nationalist website or from his social network or whatever. For anyone who hasn't realized it yet, this is what Steve Bannon, as the White House Chief Strategist vowed two years ago to fight every day for a "deconstruction of the administrative state". Steve Bannon is out of the White House but his ideology within the Oval Office is very present in Stephen Miller.

 

Trump is kind of right they should have at least some armed security during events, sad to say Jews are targets of hate crime, to not have one off duty officer or maybe two and checking for threats is rather short sighted. It's a large religious center they had no members in the police department or other branch of law enforcement not able to be armed present it seems to me that might have made a difference. Armed better or not a trained officer is generally good at shooting to and one bullet could have ended this before he got into a defensive position in the building.
