First, you'd have to prove standing....good luck

Second, the President has the power to make policy within the executive branch....did you learn nothing from the whole "Muslim ban"?

So, if during a rain storm, you find your roof has a leak, I guess you decide at that moment to remodel the living room?

Yeah. I doubt that by a lot.

We did require people to reject all other citizenship.

Yes. I learned he's willing to put his white supremacist viewpoint into action against people.

This is just a pretense to get something done. You are easily duped.

So, he has a whole executive branch and he can only do one thing at a time???

This guy has had years now.

And, he's still totally stuck on one piece of the problem!

And, that's true even though there are well thought through solutions, such as the bi-partisan immigration reform bill.

The wall is the biggest, best part of the solution, which is why Sanctuary/Open Borders supporters oppose it so vigurously.

What solution is there to people flying into this country and/or overstaying their visas...From what I have read that makes up between 40-50%(for overstaying visas) of the illegal immigrants in our country. I dont hear many people talking about this

Nobody in America wants open borders.

The wall is a boondoggle that is a pathetic and fabulously expensive step that just doesn't address the reform we need.

And Trump looks forward to that moment! He will have a bit of a chuckle, before making his next move in the journey to the conservative majority Supreme Court!

When has "judicial activism" been used to exacerbate their program of hate and division?

You don't think that an executive order would do anything?

And you agree with this as a good way to make law?

    Oh but there is!

    What is it then?

For example, of those who are here without documentation, more than 40% came legally.

You're a very honest liberal Will.

You mean overstays? What is the relevance of that? They are now illegal.

25$ billion initially and 25$ billion every seven years to pay for something that won't reduce illegal immigration and it will hurt the environment.

That is why the plan is moronic.

Could Obama change the US Code with his executive order?

Did Obama promise his gullible base that his executive order will override the US Code?

The difference is, the argument against birthright citizenship is AT LEAST based on a certain translation of a section of constitutional law! What section of constitutional law was Obama's JOKE of an Executive Order based on? Either way it doesn't matter as this matter is destined to reach the Supreme Court and Trump knows it.

Good question, and in my opinion MrTLegal is over-reaching by stating as a matter of fact that it won't reduce illegal immigration - we simply do not know, illegal immigration could even increase as a result of the wall.

The majority of illegal immigration is due to people arriving legally and then overstaying their visa. The wall will have no effect on this and may even encourage more people to adopt this method - one where detection at the point of entry is impossible.

Those crossing the border illegally are largely doing so in areas where there is already a functioning border wall or fence. We have no idea what President Trump's wall is going to look like. It was going to be a "big, beautiful" (and presumably physical) wall stretching the length of the entire border. There have also been suggestions that existing walls and fences would be incorporated into the border rather than being built from scratch, hints that it may be a fence rather than a wall and that parts of it may be a virtual wall. If it is as effective as the existing physical barriers, then that appears not to be effective enough (for those who advocate for the wall).

The "Trump Wall" may, or may not, have any measurable effect in reducing illegal immigration into the United States. It seems a bizarre premise to spend that much money on when it will likely have, at best, a marginal effect on well under half of illegal immigration.
