www.thejakartapost.com/news/2018/06/16/8-meter-python-slain-after-swallowing-woman-in-southeast-sulawesi.html the 54-year-old housewife disappeared on Thursday night, the last night of Ramadhan, after she went to inspect her corn plantation around 1 kilometer away from her house. At around 9:30 a.m., residents found a big python with a swollen belly near the plantation. The locals killed the snake and dissected its stomach, in which they found Wa Tiba’s body. The python was 8 meters long (26 feet). This happened in the Southeast part of Sulawesi. These type of things can happen in the jungle out there. Here you can see some old pictures in Vietnam of a snake that ate a man: http://www.vietgiaitri.com/la-vui/chuyen-la/201109/kinh-hoang-tran-nuot-song-nguoi-227934/
Horrible, but aren't most of these people drunk or injured, to my knowledge most of these snakes are slow and will flee from people. (though the reptile brain IS incapable of fear as we know it. OTOH, I'd hate to step on one of those monsters. Shades of Vor, since the snake doesn't chew you I wonder if someone who was still alive could survive the experience and lay there being digested.
