With the growing wealth divide and the significant role played by the stock market today, such that companies regularly eliminate American jobs after a record-breaking profit year just to please the shareholders, why not tax capital gains to pay for things like a UBI, universal healthcare and free higher education? As long as it is flate-rate, no one is ever 'punished' for making more in capital gains, as they will still always be gaining and will never be discouraged by a tax bracket. Existing capital gains taxes might even be eliminated, reduced or restructured accordingly. Tots?
Why do you want to solve the wealth divide by using the flat rate tax??? You would get more funds from the rich with a progressive tax rate. Plus you wouldn't be overloading the poor working class with fees they can't pay.
Just more socialist dribble, free this free that BS. This country has more job openings than job applicants, so why do all you crybaby socialists keep trying to plunder the wealth of others, instead of earning it for yourselves? A 10% flat rate tax on capital gains is reasonable enough, but it shouldn't be squandered in the black hole of socialism.
Just more selfish, sociopathic BS. If not to welfare, where can that money go to do the most good? Since companies are driving wages down in order to maximize their profit margins for the sake of Wall Street and upper management, I'm looking for an equitable way to restore the balance. A dividend paid out to every household would augment the lower wages and loss of hours and benefits we've seen over the years. MAGA isn't going to bring back the good old days. Nothing is, because economic fundamentals have changed and are continuing to change.
You live in a world that doesn't exist, and you dream of a world that can never be. After two years of what you call MAGA, we now have more job openings than job applicants, and rising wages across the board as well. Those are facts, not the pie-in-the-sky pipe dreams that you dream of, and that can never be.
