Why Trump DON'T want to show tax returns? How it would be harmful for him? In Finland tax info is always public, everyone can see those (all in internet). That's why I don't get why something like tax return is secret in America. There's reason to do so?
If it showed he was one step away from poverty he would be embarrassed. I'm betting they will show he committed tax fraud.
It's fundamental to a free society. Privacy is an important element of personal liberty. It allows people to decide who they want to see such information, rather than the government.
Maddow's foot chewing proved her wrong. I have little doubt people who think the President is hiding something will be joining her in the feast. The most telling proof to this is the evidence the majority of the anti Trump crowd don't have a clue what a tax return shows. Thinking a tax return will show someone is a step away from poverty is just another example of this.
There is no Constitutional requirement for a President to provide tax returns. Customs are not established law. Further, there are significant legal hurdles the New Democratic Party must overcome to force the President to provide the information. Overcoming the clear vindictive and corrupt reason for demanding them will be difficult for them to do. The separation of branches in an important check and balance, which is enumerated in the Constitution. Every citizen should be very concerned by the NDP's actions since the President was elected, and vote accordingly.
Oh, I'm sure it's probably free. Free is a broad reference that is quite subjective. But the right to privacy is a fundamental aspect of freedom.
It's got to be a huge return; taking advantage of every possible loophole. There must be hundreds of entries that the ankle-biters could twist into looking like corruption.
According to U.S. law, tax returns are private. In Trump's case I believe the push to get his Tax returns is nothing more than a very partisan effort for political gains by the Democrats. They want a gotcha, nothing more, nothing less. The Democrats want something to use against Trump in 2020. Here the IRS is in charge of enforcing tax laws. We have no laws to force any individual to make his tax returns public. If someone wants to, it is up to him. Purely voluntary. This case will go all the way to the SCOTUS to decide.
So shaming is your goal? Tell me how your motives aren't political again? I know how you hold yourself to this morally high standard
My goal is for our country to get rid of the biggest embarrassment we've suffered since becoming a nation; the golden shower pervert. And yes, I'm very anxious. This has been dragging out longer than it should have.
Well I'm glad that you're out in the open about it just being solely political, and not based on actual probable cause
If he has done nothing illegal, it's not our business to see his tax returns. I don't buy the whole "if you have done nothing wrong, you shouldn't be worried about privacy" argument. It's because it's just basic privacy. In the U.S., we like privacy. If you don't want it in your country, that's your business.
Even if Trump's tax returns were perfectly prepared and he paid all tax without utilizing any legal deductions the media and the left would find something to criticize them. So why release them and add fuel to this fire.
He doesnt because his political enemies demand it. Its purely a pride issue at this point. Its a 'you can't make me' statement. If he shows them without something in return, he'd basically be saying 'I can be manipulated.' If they really wanted his tax returns, they'd try to make a deal for them. But they wont, because it gives them another platform they can scream 'orange man bad' from.
Everybody knows the real reason why he won't release them - because they will prove he is the biggest contributor Planned Parenthood has had since it was started. This will prove he is the biggest Pharisee anywhere and alienate his evangelical fan base thereby costing him the White Wash House.
