I meant good luck if you decided to go that route.

See, now I disagree with that statement. You see signs of it on this very board - every time there's some thread about a racial incident, people disbelieve it because the usual suspects have cried wolf too many times. I've referenced it many times before but it still bears repeating: In a thread named "Trump supporters torch black church in Mississippi" - the perp turned out to be - well, NOT a Trump supporter. Even worse were the people who fell for it to the point where they were betting on it HERE. That guy owes a bunch of us some serious money, btw. And then you had Jussie Smollett.

What I'm trying to say is that the tide is turning here. Slowly, but there is a sea change in progress. You think people believe Rolling Stone as much anymore when they published "A Rape on Campus" only to have the whole thing blow up in their face?

It's not what "we" say that matters. It's the community and the courts that matter. If the community snuffs you or the courts give you a fine .... then what you, I, and the rest of the members of this forum think is worthless.

The "law" is the final say on your thoughts?

But it's happening in the community and courts. That guy who torched the church is paying for it. Jussie Smollett is a worldwide joke. Rolling Stone was sued and lost, and has a lot less credibility. People are waking up to the fact that there's a LOT of hoaxes being played out there and people are paying for their overreaching SJW chutzpah. I'm saying that the community and the courts are seeing - or starting to see this now - for what it really is. You shouldn't lose hope just yet.

No. The law is the final say on our existence. As long as the law is unfair, we're f*cked.

I see your point but what's better in the long run: False statements from this particular poster hidden away, forgotten and unremembered - or these same statements exposed to the light of day so that they can be mocked, remembered, and used as an example of incorrect thinking?

How's anybody gonna learn from his mistakes when you never see them being made?

It's perfecly reasonable for the college to lobby for equal consideration for its students.

    Laws can be changed.

I'm almost 56, man - I don't think I'm THAT much younger than you are, if I am at all!

How can the law be unfair when our lord and savior, Government, has created it?

...until it goes over the line and becomes slander and/or libel. Again: "The filing also alleged that protesters followed Raimondo’s instructions to use the copy machine in the college’s Conservatory to make copies of a flyer that stated Gibson’s Bakery “is a racist establishment with a long account of racial profiling and discrimination.” Raimondo also “communicated to the protesters using a megaphone and instructed the protesters as to where they could seek food and refreshment that would allow them to continue the defamatory protests,

You now have an official from and employed BY the college engaged in acts that the court and jury ruled were defamatory. The college, by dint of having an official; a representative of itself cooperating (and for all we know running) the protest is now responsible for any damages incurred BECAUSE of said protests - which I might add started when these three kids shoplifted FROM the bakery.

The bakery and it's employees are the victims here. There's no argument to be made otherwise. This college deserves to be taken to the cleaners. High time the admins there got an education themselves; had they been smart enough to not let their SJW feelz get the better of themselves they'd have a lot more money right now. But like my dad usedta say: The only lessons people learn are the expensive ones.

This is similar to blaming a company for what an employee did.

    Still waiting.
I was hoping that Martin Luther King would end racism. That didn't happen. I was hoping that Nelson Mandela would usher in racial equality. That never materialized either. You're not old enough to remember either of them. I have been hoping for the last 72 years.

Oh Good LORD - :wall: ... read THIS.

The college employee was Meredith Raimondo, Vice President and Dean of Students. This was an ADMIN. She's not the secretary or janitor, she's one of many people who run the place. She is a paid representative OF the college.

Yes. YES. Legally, you CAN blame a company for what an employee does. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S AN POLICY-MAKING, VICE-PRESIDENT LEVEL, ORDER-GIVING, ADMINISTRATIVE GRADE EMPLOYEE!!!!!!

The ONLY way the college could POSSIBLY not be held financially liable is IF her superiors called her in and ordered her to cease her activities agitating against the bakery and/or fired her on the spot. Neither appears to have happened.

    I agree.

However, it is not reasonable for the VP and Dean of Students to make false claims about a specific company, organize protests on those false claims, while using college resources....all while acting in the capacity as the VP/Dean of the college.....for the purpose of forcing the business to conform to their wishes.

Yeah, hopefully to the Supreme Court. I'm sure with Kavanaugh there, the judgement against the college will go up even higher. Good call, Will.
