Argh. I have a set of DT Swiss on the RacerX that wratchets loudly, need a wheelset to ride around the neighborhood without waking anyone up. Have some 26" holy rollers to use, just need some decent wheels. I dunno why I asked about the disc hubs, I saw the mention of the BB7's. Derr. Ain't you in Tx?
Ever rode a recumbent? There are several varieties but I much prefer mine, long wheel base, over seat steering, twin 26 hoops. You would fall in love, once you got a few miles under the belt. Like learning to ride, all over again, all the centers of gravity are just totally different. But SOoooo damn comfortable, no weight on the wrist and shoulders, neck is straight, the seat is a leather bucket seat...just none of the pain of an upright, diamond frame. I'd like to think I could make side $ fabricating frames, if not total builds but I live in a tiny redneck town in South Fl.
Hahh, had a real nice pair of DT Swiss hubs and some really fat Mavic DH rims, DT spokes too. Anyway, some years back I fabricated a 'tall bike' (like i could look a semi driver in the eye) and I ran disc on the front. Riding along one day and thought I broke a spoke, nope...the unusual stress of a disc on that long fork actually broke the flange on the hub Get a nice Deore wheelset, relatively cheap but quality and reliable and quite and disc. And nope, Florida Cracker here, born and bred.
