So? It is all "Sinister" Conspiracy (by the NFL) to get a SB1 Rematch? Like WWE? Is that your position? Anyway after what I saw from Frisco on Saturday, and considering the game will be in Frisco, I like Frisco.
Not a conspiracy, a controlled storyline, but otherwise yes. The NFL controls the outcomes of their games. My position is that absolutely none of that matters. If the NFL wants GB to win for marketing and storyline purposes, the Packers WILL win, even if the refs have to make bullshit questionable calls in order to cause them to win. I'll be here to eat my crow if it is not KC and GB in the superbowl.
When more than one person is involved in a secret, it's impossible to keep a secret. There's no way to control hundreds of players, office staff, coaching staff, etc., with media everywhere all the time, to keep it a secret like that. The White Sox couldn't keep a secret in 1908. Nowadays? Pfft... Also, convincing a great team to intentionally blow a game AND keep it a secret? All it takes is one player telling the wrong girlfriend, who becomes disgruntled at some point, and bam, it's over.
Packers lost 37-8 at Frisco on 11/24. So, on Sunday they have a rematch 8 weeks later at Frisco. As of now SF is favored. The Line is -7.5/-110 or -7/-120. Depending on if one wants to pay an Extra 10 cents in Vig to buy the hook.
It's quite possible. There's no need to control all of that. The NFL has control over their refs and their incredibly vague and subjective rule book. That's all the control that they need to sway games however they desire them to be swayed. Potential control beyond that is irrelevant. Like I said above, potential control over anything other than their refs and their vague subjective rule book is irrelevant. Various players themselves (and past players) have already made comments about horrible officiating and the league being rigged. The most recent one (from this year) that comes to my mind is Burfict from the Raiders. I could've swore Richard Sherman also said something of the sort in the fairly recent past as well, but I could be mistaken about that. Thing is, people just choose not to believe them, like you're choosing not to believe me. But mark my words. Chiefs and Packers will be in the SuperBowl, even though the 49ers are a much better team than the Packers are. The media hype will be all about the 100th year of the NFL going all the way back to the very first SuperBowl (between the Chiefs and Packers). It's all a sham. It's no different than WWE.
You're still talking about a huge conspiracy involving hundreds of people throughout an entire football season. If the NFL head office is telling each ref team, "this week, team A wins no matter how much they suck," and that happens for 250+ games over 20+ weeks... someone is going to spill the beans. Maybe it's a disgruntled ref whose favorite lifetime team has been designated to lose, even though they are clearly winning the game. Maybe it's a chatty secretary who types up the "who is winning each game this week," list... Conspiracy theorists are always so sure that hundreds upon hundreds of people can keep a giant conspiracy a total secret over many years. Good ole' Occam says, "nah..." Why do spy agencies have such strict need-to-know policies on the big things? They know all-too-well that every extra person in the know adds to the risk of it getting out. Why do they believe that? Because it's true.
I heard if Mahomes has a healthy career he will surpass Favre, Montana, Brees, Brady, Staubach, Tittle, Testaverde, Marino, Rodgers, Young, and all the greats.
Surpass those QB's concerning what, exactly? But yeah, who knows what'll happen with him. He seems destined for a very successful career though.
https://www.nola.com/news/courts/article_75a880c0-3eb7-11ea-8818-1b7c911a38d8.html Jan. 24, Times-Picayune, NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The New Orleans Saints are going to court to keep the public from seeing hundreds of emails that allegedly show team executives doing public relations damage control for the area’s Roman Catholic archdiocese to help it contain the fallout from a burgeoning sexual abuse crisis. Attorneys for about two dozen men suing the church say in court filings that the 276 documents they obtained through discovery show that the NFL team, whose owner is devoutly Catholic, aided the Archdiocese of New Orleans in its “pattern and practice of concealing its crimes.” “Obviously, the Saints should not be in the business of assisting the Archdiocese, and the Saints’ public relations team is not in the business of managing the public relations of criminals engaged in pedophilia,” the attorneys wrote in a court filing. “The Saints realize that if the documents at issue are made public, this professional sports organization also will be smearing itself.” Saints attorneys, in court papers, disputed any suggestion that the team helped the church cover up crimes, calling such claims “outrageous.” They further said that the emails, exchanged in 2018 and 2019, were intended to be private and should not be “fodder for the public.” The archdiocese is also fighting the release of the emails. The National Football League, which was advised of the matter by plaintiffs’ attorneys because the Saints’ emails used the team’s nfl.com domain, has not commented on the case. NFL policy says everyone who is a part of the league must refrain from “conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in” the NFL. Attorneys for the Saints acknowledged in a court filing that the team assisted the archdiocese in its publishing of the credibly accused clergy list, but said that was an act of disclosure — “the opposite of concealment.” A handful of Saints emails that emerged last year in the clergy abuse litigation included an October 2018 exchange in which Bensel asked an archdiocese spokeswoman whether there might be “a benefit to saying we support a victims right to pursue a remedy through the courts.” YGTBSM!!! Kick the Saints the hell out of the NFL!
Pretty impressive CFL + NFL Numbers. CFL 21,228 Yds. + NFL 49,325 Yds = Pro Total 70,563 Yds. Only Brees, Brady, Manning, and Favre are ahead of his Pro Total.
As a life long 49er fan I'm picking the Niner's by 13. The D is healthy, The O is too and the only weak spot is the punter and if Coleman (RB) is not able to play well; he dislocated a shoulder in the NFC Championship Game. But, Mostert had an NFL record in dismantling the Pack; Jimmy G. passed only 8 times. I do believe KC's got a QB who can upset any team if he gets a chance to dominate KC's running game. I'm hoping the front four are able to dominate KC's line and keep him stressed, and use their athleticism and the LB's speed to catch Mahomes when he tires to escape the rush. However his baseball past allows him to get the ball away fast and with remarkable accuracy, thus my 13 point pick is based on the Niners running game, keeping the ball away from Mahomes for most of the minutes. All in all I suspect one of the better Super Bowls.
Wow - I'm taking the 49ers but I think the score will be close. I like this matchup - it should be a really good Super Bowl...
