    Maybe in America

We have building standards and a thing called “workplace health and safety”

Erecting a barrier THAT tall without some form of bracing is just plain negligent

The building of the wall isn't using "cheap arse construction methods."

    Stop making crap up!

Stop caravans of 10,000 illegals from storming our border.

They tried. The wall stopped them cold.

Do you consider poor design a 'set back'? A great deal of time and money went into his 'selection' process and, coupled with his self proclaimed expertise, one would think that his wall would be impenetrable. But it has been climbed, cut through with hardware store tools and portions have now blown apart with 37mph winds. As for "going up at record speed", as of this month, only one mile (out of the 101 miles completed) of wall has been built where none previously existed. And the cost per mile is now $20 million.

I understand why a great many believe that this wall is necessary. Vitally necessary. And while I wouldn't have prioritized it as an expense, I respect their right to believe that way and support the effort. But it is either willful ignorance or disingenuous to not be realistic about the cost, building time or construction/design.

Trump is all about theatrics. He doesn't believe much of what he says, but he knows you love what he says. He needs a hastily built wall to make good on his silly campaign promises.

So is that what you believed when he said Mexico would pay for it? Was that somewhere in the fine print when everyone was chanting at his rallies?

Being an intelligent, enlightened, righteous Anointed One, how can he?

Besides, Michelle would string him up if he tries.

I'll accept anything. Really. I will never accept grown-up American man pausing, giving it a thought and then saying he's been to 57 States with 3 more to go. It just can't be.

There was a wall already in place that was constructed between 2006-2011.

Issues complicated by weather events during the erection of new construction is typical. In fact, they have a special insurance to cover construction that is not yet complete called Builder's Risk. Buildings and structures (including walls) are susceptible to failure during the construction period. Note the hotel in New Orleans that collapsed.

Even with bracing, under high wind events, damage can occur to the construction.

Not to mention, as a Design Professional, the failure isn't an indication of a failed design, but rather a failed construction or construction subjected to an act of god. In either case, it is wholly the responsibility of the third party private contractor. Blaming Trump for this is stupid.

Because the constant complaints are based on nothing more than partisan BS. You blame trump supporters for not holding him to any type of responsibility, yet ignore that the left is CONSTANTLY lambasting absolute non-sense at him. Take some responsibility for the divisiveness.

Anybody that has even the slightest understanding of how government contracts for construction work immediately understand that this is not the fault of the owner/client, but contractually fully the responsibility of the contractor hired to do the work.
