Concrete takes 28 days to fully cure and achieves 90% of its strength in 7 days.

That means for a month, construction of concrete is susceptible to loading imposed on the construction that was accommodated in the design, but not during construction.

Never the less, the wall was designed by private companies, and built by private companies. Did you really think that Trump got out his drafting pencils and built the wall.

This is just another attempt by the left to use anything they can to criticize the president. It's ridiculous.

 

With a stacked bond? WTF. These aren't CMU. These are steel panel walls set in concrete pier foundations with a grade beam.

On a side note, a stack bond is no less strong than a running bond.

They did have supports but still collapsed. You can't add more concrete to a concrete base until the base has cured!

 

How reliable are those dozens of miles of new border if they were built with the same shoddiness? Just waiting now for cars to be used for ramming.........

 

Curing times for concrete has been known since concrete was first used. This event is negligence. Not waiting for concrete to cure leaves an ever present weakness just waiting for conditions to cause a collapse. No one knows how reliable the rest of the wall will be if the same not-care-less attitude was used. Hey, look how fast we built it!

That's a question for the company building the wall. No surprise you'd blame that on Trump.

 

So if you hired a contractor to build an addition to your house, who would you blame if the addition was blown over during construction? I'm going out on a limb here and saying you wouldn't take the blame for it.

Yeah, I saw that comment and laughed my ass off. It's a friggin vertical member steel wall and somebody babbles about 'stacked bonds'. He probably doesn't even know what a CMU is.
