What has that got to do with my post showing how clueless Trump is?

It shows how clueless you are about how long it normally takes to develop a vaccine.

So you hit the bottom of the barrel then.

How many Russian collusion threads did you participate in, I wonder.

Actually @MTlegal post an article highlighting that’s what he was talking about..my mistake. Trump is cleaning up the Ebola outbreak that Biden couldn’t

Fair enough. What would you have wanted him to say of you were the person writing his speeches? I didn't think his speech was overly hopeful and optimistic. I am still just as scared of the virus after his speech although I was paying more attention to the doctor that spoke after Mike pence.

What are you going on about now! I haven't mentioned anything about how long it takes to develop a vaccine

What, Trump personally developed the existing Ebola vaccine that he said was close to be developed?

I would have preferred to hear him repeat the conclusions from his doctors rather than to contradict them with his own opinion and to say something to the effect of, "We are monitoring the situation closely and are prepared to react fully and completely to ensure that Americans and the global supply chain remains as secure and safe as reasonably possible." I also would have preferred that he refrain from attacking Democrats (even if he was being asked about their criticisms of him) or by saying he was amazed to learn how many American people are killed yearly by the Flu (because it just makes him seem wholly ignorant of a health fact that every President should know).

And yes, I am aware that portions of his statements strayed into that type of messaging contained in the quotes above, but the negative aspects of his statements largely distracted from that message.

He didn't obviously do it himself....geez....his admin has done a great job cleaning up the Ebola Outbreak left over from the prior admin.

But I digress....this thread isn't about cleaning up another mess left from the lest Admin, it's about the current virus, and as Nancy P herself has stated..."everything is fine"

Every President should know how many people die from the flu each year?

That's essentially what he said...he just gave more details: https://www.rev.com/blog/transcript...script-trump-and-cdc-give-coronavirus-updates

    What's negative in that statement?

I was happy to learn: "Johns Hopkins, I guess, it is a highly respected, great place. They did a study, comprehensive, “The Countries Best and Worst Prepared for an Epidemic” and the United States, we’re rated number one. We’re rated number one for being prepared. This is a list of different countries. I don’t want to get in your way, especially since you do such a good job."

    Great to be number 1

There hasn't been a case of Ebola in the US since 2014! You are so desperate to defend Trump at all costs no matter how foolish you come across

Then what do you think of travel restrictions from other countries? Should we have them or do we just let people come and go from our country as they please in the face of a possible pandemic?

I notice that you don't actually quote him while he was talking about the numbers killed yearly by the Influenza, even while saying that's "essentially" what he said. Here is what he actually said:

"The flu, in our country, kills from 25,000 people to 69,000 people a year. That was shocking to me. ..But think of that 25,000 to 69,000. Over the last 10 years, we’ve lost 360,000, these are people that have died from the flu, from what we call the flu. “Hey, did you get your flu shot?” And that’s something....You look at flu season, I said 26,000 people. I’d never heard of a number like that. 26,000 people going up to 69,000 people doctor you told me before. 69,000 people die every year, from 26 to 69, every year from the flu. Now, think of that. It’s incredible."

That's the thing. Many would say "Him agree with the CDC only creates panic!" and of course, hif he had come out negative about COVID-19, the market would have sunk even further than it currently is and of course, they would blame the POTUS for that as well. It's a no win situation for the left. Nothing he could say would elicit and positive response from the left.

The virus has spread so far beyond a few areas, and it can spread so quickly to other areas within a given country, that restricting travel based on location - except to some very high risk places like Wuhan or that region of northern Italy - doesn't make a lot of sense anymore.

But I think travel restrictions can reasonably be justified for individuals who are showing symptoms - preferably by implementing a screening system on flights that are destined to our country. With that said, given what we know about the virus (i.e. you can spread the virus without even being symptomatic), we are very nearly at a point where that isn't going to work for very long either.

I think it is safe to say that we are rapidly advancing past the point where containment is a reasonable goal and that we can only hope to slow it down enough to allow for a better preparation by our healthcare professionals and infrastructure.

Extreeemely Good argument against Open Borders, and the Silk Road and all that, build stuff here... "Likely contract" ; at this point I want to claim that "likely" word is not proof, just because I don't like getting sick. At what point should I wear my motorcycle helmet while shopping? Should I get like funny looking gas mask attachments like Walterriffic?
