    WHO update:

Nine new Member States (Brazil, Denmark, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Norway, Pakistan, Romania, and North Macedonia) reported cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours

Outside of China 3664 confirmed (746 new) 46 countries (9 new) 57 deaths (13 new)

    https://www.who.int/docs/default-so...0227-sitrep-38-covid-19.pdf?sfvrsn=9f98940c_2

The mortality rate remains a little under 2%. There are probably twice as many people who have/had it and just shrugged it off/will shrug it off, so maybe a mortality rate of 1%. Let's hope there are four times as many who have it and haven't been tested and won't die from it (although that means it's spreading like wildfire). That would put mortality at about half a percent. If 30 million Americans get this (which is what the flu usually infects), it's going to be pretty bad. We haven't lost 150,000 Americans to a surprise event in a long time.

The real question is whether trump's reaction to the coronavirus, thus far, is amazing or the best reaction in human history?

That trump is a self-serving egotistical ******* who only cares about the coronavirus insofar as it affects him and his election chances.

Why are you so extreme? Can’t it just be fine? It’s not like this has lasted three years....

I think i linked an article to you about the morbidity rate and the impact that age and co-factors have on the morbidity rate.

They found an upward range on morbidity at nearly 20% for the oldest people who have a co-factor like heart disease.

Maybe we need a thread about feelings. But not in Current Events

It's you that is having reading comprehension problems. All they have done is isolate the virus. Did you bother to read your link? The virus is not a vaccine. They have yet to test it on animals so no where near testing on humans. Hence there is no vaccine yet

It isn't like that hasn't happened before.
You don't get that this COVID-19 is apolitical.

    Yes I read it.

Did you read the part where it says all they have to do is the by law mandated animal and human testing, or no?

Not nearly as long as the Mueller investigation or the impeachment. Both of those were fruitless for the Democrats.

Do you mean did I read the bit you just made up? I read the bit where it says " But he said the vaccine still needs months to be tested on animals and an additional year for human trials before it is fit for use." Do you understand the words "fit for use"?

That's interesting and scary. Because of Medicare, we have a lot of old people who are alive with chronic conditions.

If I was running things, I would close the schools down now. Write the rest of this year off as a loss for the kids. They would love it anyway. They all hate school.

So you don't know that working vaccines are required to go through animal and human testing before they can be distributed.

Thanks for sharing your lack of understanding for everyone to see.

Yeah who needs to know anything when you have socialism. I'm sure somebody will want to work and keep half instead of not working and getting paid.

Yes, the last time that the stock market lost this much, this fast, was in 2008. As part of the financial crisis.
I get that your defense and praise of trump is entirely political.

You already said that you can't evaluate the Trump response until 2 years, 9 months, from now.

No just common sense and recognizing that he is doing his very best to keep you and everyone else safe. COVID-19 is entirely apolitical and so is controlling it.

Trump is still impeached with more yes votes than any president in history. The vote to remove was bipartisan (first time in US history) and the vote to acquit was partisan (also a first time in US history).

    Not fruitless.

The Mueller investigation resulted in dozens of criminal indictments and felony convictions and the seizure of assets that was a net profit for the US government.

    Also not fruitless.
