Hope you haven't been too attached to the stock market over the last 5 days.

What bit of a vaccine is not ready yet do you not understand? Your link even states states that there will be no vaccine available for over a year even if the tests are successful

The reason it has gotten worse is that people are very mobile and unfortunately the virus moves with them.

If COVID-19 is entirely apolitical, why aren't you criticizing Trump for using the speech about the virus last night to attack his political opponents and to blame the financial market meltdown on the Democratic debate?

What part of a vaccine that's known to work still having to go through animal and human testing do YOU not yet understand?

Oh I'm not worried at all.

How many times has the left come on here screaming about a stock market drop that rebounds just as fast?

    Quite a few.

The left's attempts to terrify the markets will fail, and they will somehow manage to dig an even deeper hole than they're in now.

That's one thing I have learned. No matter how low they sink, they ARE capable of sinking even lower.

I don't think we are nearly at that point of shutting down the schools. Next year (assuming there is widespread access to an affordable and working vaccine) will likely be a different issue.

But your point about Medicare is interesting and one that I think supports the proposition for Medicare for All. There are definitely going to be a segment of the population who will refuse to get tested because of the fear of cost. Especially after they hear about this guy:

I sincerely hope that the proposed vaccine works and is ready to go in the ~14 month timeframe, or faster.

But that is only one part of the vaccine. There is also a concern regarding supply and cost. If there is a vaccine, but only a tiny segment of the population can get the vaccine because of a lack of supply or an exorbitant cost, then we are still screwed.

We probably shouldn't have off-shored our vaccine production to China, huh?

Are you really this slow or just pretending to be? If it still has to go through animal and human testing then it is not ready! They don't know if it works because it has not been given to anyone. All they have done is isolate the virus. The virus is not a vaccine. Do you really think that they will allow people to die if there is a working vaccine just because of a law. This news came out nearly a month ago and many people have died since

Will you guys have any more non-white members in the House of Representatives after Will Hurd leaves?

I think we'll be doing it within two weeks, in certain areas, like Southern California. Probably widespread within a month. The CDC is already talking about it. There was already a HS shut down over this (in Washington, I think).

CDC knows this is coming, knows that this is a SARS virus, and that means a lot of people are going to need medical care, so the last thing they're going to want to do is have this thing come at us all at once. Japan did the right thing. We'll be following suit.

Yes, this will put healthcare in the spotlight, and that hurts the GOP. It would help the Dems a lot more if a moderate was leading. People like Obamacare. They don't mind expanding it. Medicare for all is a much tougher sell, unless Bernie relents on the no-private-insurance.

There's another inflection point coming up for the markets: when this thing gets officially declared a pandemic. Although that fact is probably baked into everyone's brain right now.

The next time someone tells you a vaccine works in a petri-dish, remind them that a bullet does too.

    Sure, if they're conservatives.

I mean you can keep trying to paint the party who freed the slaves from Democrats as racist, but I think it's wearing off.

Not random. There is, after all, a reason that animal and human testing is required by law before you can say that a vaccine is ready.
