It's amazing to see people who actually believe that Trump was recommending the injection of bleach. Truly amazing.

 

I don't have a dog in this fight as I am an Irish citizen.
Looking in I see the President of the United States of America saying that at a serious briefing that was about the deaths of thousands of Americans as much as anything, that in that briefing he employed sarcasm.
I have no comment to make over the veracity regarding the use of disinfectants, I can keep my own counsel on that, but I remain rather more than shocked and disturbed that the President, and indeed the face to the world of such a great country, could be so tasteless, crass, and lacking in sensitivity that he would use such a briefing as a platform for sarcasm.
President Trump himself said he used sarcasm, it does not matter why to me, it does matter that he used sarcasm in the context of such tragedy for so many of his fellow citizens.
Not exactly classy or gracious, but very low grade self aggrandisement for the man who will certainly be re elected and have his finger on the nuclear button. Don't Trump supporters feel even a little bit uncomfortable about his use of sarcasm in the context of so many American deaths?

He wasn't recommending anything - and no one said he was. What he was doing was making a fool out of himself by posing silly questions. The problem is, when a president muses out loud in a national briefing some might think that there is some thought behind it. You can hardly blame one for coming to that conclusion. The trump supporters are especially vulnerable.

 

I don't think you understand what would be the process it's doesn't have to get next to every alveoli. There is already a company working on a device.

WTF? Are you even paying attention or just here to blindly defend trump? Trump said stupid sh**, couldn't explain it away due to the outlandish claims, so he resorted to saying he was being sarcastic. Which no one believes. Because he was very clearly not being sarcastic.

 

And people routinely call such centers with questions about household cleaners and guess what the uptick in those calls began back in March and guess what people have been doing more and more and more of since the COVID infections began CLEANING THEIR HOUSES AND USING DISINFECTANTS. As noted here the uptick is such calls began back in March long before the press conference.

But one needn't do a detailed analysis to surmise why exposure to things like Lysol and bleach—and fears about this exposure—might be up this month over April 2019. And one needn't reach for the ridiculous explanation that it's because people deliberately consumed it en masse after listening to Trump. We are in the midst of a pandemic right now, and we were not in April 2019. Of course more people are being exposed to household disinfectants at the moment than were during this time last year.

The Daily News does note that none of the callers died or required hospitalization, which also suggests their exposure was minimal and not of the Lysol-mouthwash variety.''

He didn't. He used the word "disinfectant" right after a speaker explained how disinfectants like alcohol and bleach work great to kill the virus. The link was impossible to miss - unless willfully trying to.
