"Fire Fauci," has replaced "Lock her up" at Trump rallies. "President Donald Trump suggested early Monday morning that Dr. Anthony Fauci, a prominent member of the White House’s COVID-19 task force, will be on the chopping block after Election Day on Tuesday. During Trump’s campaign rally in Opa-Locka, Florida, his supporters began chanting “Fire Fauci!” after the President complained for the umpteenth time about the media covering the pandemic. Trump allowed the chants to continue for over 10 seconds before they petered out. “Don’t tell anybody, but let me wait til a little bit after the election,” he said. “I appreciate the advice.” https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/trump-hints-at-firing-fauci-after-election-day It's like watching those MAGA hat wearing cultists walk off a cliff with smiles on their faces. Trumpism is a cancer on the nation because its advocates reject science, reason, logic, factual evidence, and objective truth. Thanks to the conservative media cohort lead by Faux those folks will be around long after Capt. Clorox is gone. Which is why the nation is screwed.
I predicted this a long time ago: http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/the-rw-drumbeat-to-oust-fauci-has-begun.570230/ Of course, back then, I was called out for TDS. What happened? The writing was already on the wall.
One of the more frightening aspects of what happened during the rally is the Orange Menace was essentially coaxed in to going along with the mob.
I think it’s pretty clear that they are in conflict. The president has the right to pick and choose who leads any part of executive branch of government.
Tens of millions lose their jobs if/when Fauci recommendations of endless lockdowns are implemented. Why not Fauci himself, why should he be an exception? In fact it's more than fair that he should be the first to be let go. He should be proud to take one for the team and be an example to those millions whose livelihoods his recommendations will destroy.
If a national mask mandate had been issued months ago studies suggest we'd have 50% less cases of COVID. So we wouldn't have to consider more shutdowns.
Ya ya, he should have been fired in January, THE LIST: Dr. Fauci’s 12 Deadly Mistakes and Contradictions — Including His Worst Mistake of Delaying Herd Immunity While Destroying US Economy
Quite a few things Fauci has said have been taken out of context. https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/11/politics/fauci-trump-campaign-ad-out-of-context/index.html
True, but the bigger issue is this: A segment of this country have egos their brains can't cash. That is, they think they are right and when actual experts tell them they are wrong, they don't want to hear that. So they create their own reality and experts who aren't. The bottom line is this, the person in the room who says people who have spent their lives studying and becoming an expert in the field are wrong, is the idiot in the room.
I know Trump has a habit of doing this to anyone not on his side (I'm openly admitting it), but man Fauci sure is flakey! He's flip flops thing he said about covid like every other week.
Right... Trump -2% chance to get elected according to experts, endless worldwide economic depression if Trump is elected according to Nobel prize winning experts, manufacturing jobs are never coming back according to experts, peace between Israel and Gulf countries is impossible any time soon according to experts, NAFTA would be impossible to change according to experts.... Anyway, just for fun, I present you environmental experts. Cause if you can't trust their expertise, whose expertise can you trust, right? LOL https://www.foxnews.com/politics/failed-climate-change-predictions
Are there any virologists running for the president? If no, then whoever wins will have to exercise the discretion.
Is there a difference between discretion based on facts and science and that based on self-serving political decisions? You bet. Trump has already shown which path he will take. And as you ignored, it appeals to those in this country who prefer their own beliefs to data and reality. So it's a bigger problem to our republic as a whole because those people vote based on those misguided beliefs and that impacts all of us.
No...he doesn't...this is a false statement. Science does change...when presented with data that supports that change. Unlike religion, your or my thoughts and opinions, science has a well established, public mechanism for change. The only thing he's changed his tune on was masks. And most of the was to avoid running out of masks because despite all the greatness that went on the last three years, we can't, apparently, make masks... That doesn't excuse Fauci or anyone else for telling us not to wear masks, but it more than explains it and still makes him better equipped to stop the virus than 99.9% of Americans. If Trump were smart, he would listen.
It's not. But to fire him and listen to people who a) have no experience in communicable diseases, and b) agree with your political opinion while ignoring actual scientific data/conclusions, is called what exactly?
It’s called democracy. That’s why we have elections. That’s why all information should be available to the voter so that they can make their decisions, even if they are wrong. Withholding information is counter productive because it breeds conspiracy theories and mistrust. If you employ fascism to get people to elect “correct” leader to handle any issue “correctly”, scientific or not, then you yourself are a fascist.
If firing Fauci was warranted, why hasn't it happened by now? Why wait until after the election as Don suggested he may do?
