https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/01/us/capitol-rioters-non-voters-invs/index.html "They were there to "Stop the Steal" and to keep the President they revered in office, yet records show that some of the rioters who stormed the US Capitol did not vote in the very election they were protesting. One was Donovan Crowl, an ex-Marine who charged toward a Capitol entrance in paramilitary garb on January 6 as the Pro-Trump crowd chanted "who's our President?" Federal authorities later identified Crowl, 50, as a member of a self-styled militia organization in his home state of Ohio and affiliated with the extremist group the Oath Keepers. His mother told CNN that he previously told her "they were going to overtake the government if they...tried to take Trump's presidency from him." She said he had become increasingly angry during the Obama administration and that she was aware of his support for former President Donald Trump." You would think that something as important as saving the country (because if not "you won't have a country left") would be sufficient motivation for people to get off their backsides and go vote (or maybe even mail in a ballot). They do however seem to have the time and, it should probably be noted, the financial resources to travel to the Capitol and storm the building in an act of violent insurrection. Maybe civics education should be included as part of their prison sentences so that next time there's an election they will at least vote for their candidate before going on the rampage? Of course that will be moot for many of them if, on their eventual release, they find themselves in a state that does not allow previously convicted felons to vote.
Why would they vote? Everybody KNEW (for at least a year) that Trump was Going to LOSE in a Landslide.
(1) They knew something we didn't and don't waste their time. or (2) They are just knuckleheads or (3) Both CNN is a shitstain organization for even thinking this is a relevant story. But, they put out all sorts of pathetic pieces, ignoring important events, so that the "Useful Idiot" brigade can cloud the national discussions with garbage like this.
They are both Fake News and quite selective in their outrage. MOSTLY PEACEFUL: Armed Antifa Occupy Hotel, Shout at Cops: ‘Pigs in a Blanket, Fry ‘Em Like Bacon.’ None dare call it “insurrection.”
This isn't terribly surprising. It is clear that none of them seemed to understand that one can't "overthrow the government" by storming the Capitol. Many of them don't seem to have much common sense either. Now, more than ever, it's practically impossible to remain anonymous but some of them were caught solely because they were dumb enough to brag about it and post self-incriminating photos. Not the brightest people on the planet.
CNN fake news is so transparent. They don't even pretend not to have an agenda. So out of 80 people first arrested they focus on 8. What about the other 72?
8/80=1/10 or 10%. 10% is actually a weird number. We normally think of people who are radicalized to the point of violence as taking steps along the way to beoming violent. Them not voting is a weird step because intitution says they would have voted. But they didn't. So why?
The other 72 presumably voted so at least they have a claim to a grievance however misinformed that claim may be and how they chose to address it.
I think it's a pertinent question to try to find out exactly what it is these people want? Do they want to participate in a functioning democracy or do they just want to break things? If you don't like the fact it's CNN reporting on this, I'm sure we can find the same thing from another source if that would make you happy?
And yet they claim to be which is odd? Perhaps they're just "a la carte" right wing insurrectionists with nowhere better to be?
doesn't surprise me, lol, course I remember the same of those upset Trump won that was upsetting to me then, just as I am sure this is upsetting to Trump supporters now, those that did not vote could have won Trump the election now they may be felons and never able to vote again
they did the same with the Hillary protestors against Trump, they reported that many did not vote.... they report the facts, you decide what to do with them
Because they weren't Trump supporters. They were instigators. Kind of undermines the whole impeachment narrative that they did this because orange man said "fight like hell" a few hours before down the road.
I would be fine with CNN if they reported the facts objectively and let the viewer draw their conclusions based on the facts. CNN starts with their conclusion and reports "facts" accordingly. I guess you think CNN's starting the subject story off by stating "the more you learn the more delusional this thing becomes" is straight up objective reporting.
