The US will cease to exist before the 2nd Amendment is repealed.

There are no Constitutional rights to drive a car. So you are making a false analogy. How is Government constrained in Australia? Do you people have any basic rights?

You realize the very same restrictions exist with guns, right now?

You do not need a license to buy a car. You do not need a license to own a car. You do not need a license to keep a car on your property.

And those are ignored. Like I said, millions of people break the speed limit, or don't have insurance, or drive drunk, or use a vehicle for an unintended purpose every single day....

Tell that to the families of the dead FedEx workers, killed by a young man who apparently shouldn’t have had access to weapons, but whose “availability” doesn’t appear to have been a problem...

We don't restrict access to guns for 300 million Americans just because there are 0.00008% *******s running around out there....

Do we stop selling alcohol because there are **** tons of alcoholics on the road that kill people every year?

Yes, there are rules to how a car can be driven...speed limits, you must be sober, etc....and people ignore them.

We place similar restrictions on guns/knives/etc....namely, don't kill people with them. Like the restrictions placed on cars, people ignore them.

You are not making the case for tighter gun control.

And if you had the same lax laws for vehicles as you do for firearms? There’d be a Mad Max movie playing out on every road in the country...!

You made the claim. You need to support it.

I offer facts that negate your claim; you respond with an argumentum ad passiones fallacy.
    Typical.

If 0.00008%.of those who contracted the CV-19 virus died from it, no one would have ever heard of it.

You call roughly 30K state and federal gun laws "lax"? Hyperbole often?

Dang....every single post of yours is wrong.

It's FARRRRRRR easier to get a car than it is a gun.

Yes I am. The question is one of degree. As I said above, how much worse would it be if the restrictions on cars, alcohol, etc were as lax as the restrictions on firearms.

As I also said earlier, tough gun laws won’t eradicate ALL gun crime. Even though our levels in Australia have fallen dramatically since 1996, people do still get shot. But, I can tell you that I feel a lot safer walking through a shopping mall now than I did back then...

But claiming you took and repeated an unsupported claim of another poster as "factual" is much easier

The totally stable and sane person that you gave a driver's license to at 16 may not be the same stable, sane 30 year old that just got divorced and lost their job 14 years later. And that person can drive their vehicle head-on into anyone they choose anytime they want, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it...

Government is “constrained” as it is in most democratic countries....through the ballot box.
