Just so Biden can be educated

This is how the Afghan pull out should have happened.

Pull out all the Americans

Pull out all Afghans that supported our military

Pull out all our military equipment

Destroy all bases they would be useful to the taliban

Pull out our troops.

Any one care to argue that this is the way it should have been done?

You dont have to be a General to have common sense.

So without getting your briefings from the Pentagon, what makes you think you have enough information to know what the real obstacles are without revealing further info to our enemies?

 

You need step #1: inform, agree with, and coordinate with nato allies about steps #2-6

Oh and step #7: have some real contingency plans ready. Like not the made up in your head after all steps are done and it’s too late kind.

 

Question: How would the troops have been able to hold off the Taliban without military equipment?

BTW: I wonder why you didn't post this insight a month ago? With your immense knowledge of the situation on the ground, you could have surely warned of the impending doom of Taliban rapid takeover? or are you just Monday morning quaterbacking, like all the Trumpers who just like to crucify Biden over anything?

Under the Pompeo/Dirty Donald agreement they signed with the Taliban, we were supposed to be out of Afghanistan by May 1,2021.

 

I think the downfall of Generals came when Wesley Clark { a 2 star General }
was made a 4 star General by President Clinton.Clinton did it based
soley on his friendship with *Clark.And also because both men had
gigantic ego's.
Clark's ego was so big he ran for President in 2004.

take a page from the Iranians and simply hold them hostage? Or have done the same to

Hey, do you think that all the people at the DoD are stupid and haven't thought of this before? The reality is: the situation on the ground is a lot more complex and fluid than simplistic RW thinking can grasp.

And, before the accusation comes: Biden is not my master, I do not adore him, I can concede mistakes in the withdrawal process. In fact, such a complex operation involving 10s of 1000s of people would probably be impossible without mistakes.

 

Once again, a Democrat has to clean up the mess left by Republicans.

All trump did was release 5000 criminals and invite them to the White House.

 

It is not that complicated or hard to understand. You keep the troops until last. They are fully armed. In addition they have air support which can operate out of one of the surrounding countries. You pull out the civilians and then the majority of the equipment. The troops then leave. They might leave a small residual amount of equipment as they load on the final aircraft to leave.

What you do not want to happen is for the remaining civilians to have no protection.

I wonder what the Taliban will do with our equipment. They have three basic options. They can use it. Some they are totally unqualified to operate such as most of the aircraft. They likely can learn, if they can find someone to teach them. They could sell the equipment back to us or they could sell the equipment to the Chinese or Russians. It will likely be combination of all three.

 

As I said, do you think everyone at the DoD is REALLY stupid that they haven't thought about those simplistic solutions first?
