Nov 2012 party affiliation gave the democrats a 5 point advantage 33-28 over Republicans with 38% classifying themselves as independents. History shows on average 92% of those who are Republicans and Democrats will vote for their parties candidate. 92% of Democrats voted for Obama, 93% of Republicans for Romney. According to the exit polls, Democrats made up 38% of those who actually voted vs. 32% for the Republicans. 29% of those who actually voted were independents.
