Oh no, the French break Welsh hearts. A thrilling rollercoaster ride though with a 14 man France scoring the decisive try against a 13 man Wales in the third minute of overtime. Sorry Ron. You're going to have to rely on the Scots to secure you the Championship now.
I'm having to live this vicariously between you and Diablo, here in the good old U S of A I'd have to cough up $4.99 a month on something called Peacock to access it...hell, I wouldn't pay 10 cents to watch Trump or Biden eat a bale of hay, I'm Mr. El Cheapo. Does sound exciting though....
Cracking end to the 2021 championships. France needed to win and score 4 tries to get the bonus point to equal Wales and then get enough of a lead to win by points difference.
Thanks again! America misses a lot because these aren't widely broadcast, guess the NFL has more clout than I thought.
Well rugby is the fastest growing sport in the US and has been for many years now. Fingers crossed that it will break through eventually.
Here we go again. It's 6 Nations time. Two cracking games today starting with Wales v Ireland followed by an injury hit England against the Jocks. It's a wide open championship this year with no clear favourites.
Last weekend's games had just ended by the time I realized they were playing. I heard the France v Ireland should be a good matchup but I haven't seen either team play in quite a while. I'll be rooting for the Irish.... Six Nations 2022: France v Ireland 'the crunch game' - Eddie O'Sullivan https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/60294447 Hopefully, NBC will be broadcasting it Stateside but they've been covering the Olympics....
The England game left me depressed. Dominated possession and territory for most of the match, 17-10 up and cruising towards the win when our out of position hooker gave away the stupidest penalty try I've ever seen by deliberately knocking the ball forward and out of touch.
Ugh. Mental mistakes are the worst. I'm fired-up for tomorrow - the two early games are being televised on our side of The Pond. I'll probably be out cutting firewood during the Wales v. Scotland game but I'm dropping everything for France v. Ireland. The last time I saw a good rugby matchup was when Toulouse beat La Rochelle in the Champions Cup.
In case you haven't seen it here's the offence. It wasn't one hand flailing around accidentally knocking it forward. He got both hands on it and could have caught it. Can you imagine a receiver doing that in the Superbowl? It was just sheer panic.
He's got a promising career ahead of him in beach volleyball. I just hope he never gets to wear an England Rugby shirt again.
Hopefully, somewhere far, far away....like Diego Garcia or Guam.... That's a good way to make yourself expendable. Against Scotland, no less....
Taking a short break from chopping firewood to catch Wales tie Scotland with its first try 14-14. Tomas Francis is a BIG boy...
Wales rallies to beat Scotland 20-17. CNBC dumps the broadcast at the end of the game - WTF Match of the Week, France v. Ireland - France running away with the game then gives up a try on a kickoff. D'oh! France the better team early on, 13-7 at 26' - C'mon Ireland!
Ha! We are starting a “Pacific Cup”. https://www.rugby.com.au/news/super...o-watch-squads-where-to-watch-channel-2022110 But you know what that means? We will be up against the likes of the Fijians and the Tongans and those guys are built like brick walls!
There's been a lot of talk about kicking Italy out of the 6 nations. In 22 years and 97 games they have won just 12 times. It used to be suggested that Georgia could replace them but that seems to be losing favour now and South Africa are touted as a possibility. Trouble with that would be the huge away trips to play in the South African Summer.
I agree - both of Saturday's matches were good. France does appear to be the team to beat, and Ireland looked like they had a shot at beating them when they pulled within a point, but then they made the fatal mistake of turning the ball over deep in their own end and gave up a try. Heartbreaker I take it you enjoyed England's match against Italy a bit more than the volleyball game against Scotland.
The travel would be particularly tough on the Springboks, but I'd love to see them in the Six Nations. Italy has not been good...
