Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, responding to the latest U.S. evacuation offer, replied with language that will surely be quoted down through the ages: "The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride."
And with that he made Russian President Putin look like a small worm, plotting in the dark.
Zelensky's words and actions in this war have been nearly Churchillian in their resolve and inspirational courage. Win or lose, he is the figure who will be admired in history.

it's gonna be a hard fight, but looks like unlike the Afghan army, they are not just gonna give up without a fight

they can't win, but they can make it so difficult and long, that there are no winners and eventually Russia gives up the occupation

Biden told him to flee, because that's what he would do.

There's a track record. Biden fled Afghanistan. He and Trump share that dishonor.

You're probably correct in assessing that the president before Biden wouldn't have made the same offer to the president of Ukraine

If we still had the President before Biden, Russia wouldn't be in Ukraine.

The hard reality is that Putin gained neighboring lands under every POTUS of the 21st century EXCEPT Trump.

Your greatest quality is to be imunized to shame.

Trump, the man you worship, tried to blackmail Zelensky.

Your very presence on this thread is so ironic.

Actually, Russia was in Ukraine already, they were occupying Crimea, that's why Ukraine was looking to join NATO. Russia had already been using their military force to take more territory out of Ukraine. It's the reason why Finland and Sweden are now considering joining NATO too

..but yeah, perhaps if we were nicer to Putin he wouldn't have done what he is known for the entire time he's been in power

Some in the NSC/Administration made the claim that Trump tried to blackmail Zelensky(and the house), they could not prove the charges(well, to any neutral observer that is). But that's neither here or there to the war effort currently ongoing.

Yeah, I'm surprised that more Republicans aren't in love with Zelensky-- when you look his handing out military rifles, to basically anyone who wants one (though this may lead to one's hasty conscription), and broadcasting on Ukranian t.v., a guide for making molotov cocktails.

On the other hand, Trump is really not one of his fans.

You need a calendar and history book.

    W. Bush...putin takes Georgia.

    Obama...putin takes Crimea.

    Trump...putin takes nothing.

Biden...putin is taking more of Ukraine. Biden says.Putin will win and advises leaders in Ukraine to leave.

They were still occupying Crimea while Trump was president.... but ignoring that detail is essentially what we were doing during that time, so at least you're being consistent

Zelensky is a man of courage and a great leader. The Ukrainians are uniting behind Zelensky and now the Russians have a tough row to hoe. And now it appears the world is turning against Putin and that will keep him up at night. If Putin's military turns against him he is toast. I'm sure there are Russian soldiers, and Russians generals, in Ukraine questioning why they are killing the Ukrainian civilians. It appears Putin has stepped in a big pile of you know what. Good for the world and good for the brave Ukrainians.

Yeah I'm sure Trump would stay...lol

Biden did the right thing. (And Trump would have advised him to do the same.) But Zelensky did the right thing and ignored him.
