I agree with this. It's a good thing the general population has started to figure out where they're hiding! Remember when we still thought they were on the Right? LOLs ..... good times! innocence!
Because we get to call it whatever we want to call it. Why did the White southerners call the Civil War "The war of Northern Aggression"? Because that's what they wanted to call it.
This is slightly passive aggressive but doesn't answer the question in am informative way. Of course they call it what they want to call it.
How do you know what white southerners call the civil war? Do you even know one white southerner? I have been living in the south since 1997 and never heard anybody use that term. They call it the civil war.
Not many call it that and usually just to secretly tweak others but it was a war of Northern aggression, Lincoln wanted a war to force the Southern states which left the United States back in and he got one and he invaded the South in a war of mass destruction and maximum damage.
Announcement: Gov Gavin Newsom has created a task force to study the issue of REPARATIONS for the descendants of African slaves. These reparations will only cover slave descendants who live in California. I am so happy to see Gov Newsom take this step. I hear the reparations will be given according to family lineage. Maybe this is the best way to achieve this goal---state by state.
Good luck with the total inability to prove the lines of genealogy and everything else you'll need to prove. I was born white in Florida but now I self identify as a black person from California . Anyone who tells me I'm wrong is obviously a bigot. I'm waiting for my free money so I don't have to take my ass to work. And he's only creating a task force to get reelected you can sit there by your mailbox and you'll sit there and sit there because you're not getting one thin dime.
You better keep going to work. I am happily retired. I'll let you know when I get my reparations money.
I don’t believe in reparations or that Juneteenth teaches the full history of the abolishment of slavery. Nor does it take into account the cost of white blood lines lost and the economic costs of that as well in the abolishment of slavery. Reparations are not an answer to anything
I wouldn't hold your breath. If you need money you can do like most of the normal people in the world and go back to work
I don't think that anyone involved with this, has the slightest belief that this alleviates the need to deal with racism.
Reparations are an answer to the wealth lost to the descendants of African slaves. Working without pay for two hundred years, while producing wealth for others: that is what reparations addresses. Reparations will help close the current wealth gap between African-Americans and Whites.
"I wouldn't hold your breath". I don't think that is correct grammar. LOL. I personally am doing OK financially. I want the reparations bill to pass to help younger African-Americans.
This presumes people are entitled to the wealth of their ancestors. I think that is another massive problem with today's society.
Speaking of your work, why don't you McDonald's workers automatically give ketchup with my order? I always have to ask for it.
Sorry about that I don't work at McDonald's, our local McDonald's is employed mostly by black folks. I don't go there anymore, not necessarily because most of the employees are black but primarily because the customer service and the food sucks. The last time I went my Big Mac had a half a piece of cheese and my filet of fish had a big long nasty hair on it.
Any younger American.... Noticed I did not have to add a qualifier.. can help yourself by getting a little bit of education and going to work. Not waiting on someone to give them a handout.
Reparations are NOT a handout. It is wealth that was STOLEN from our enslaved ancestors. So, even the young African-Americans who are educated and have jobs would still be entitled to reparations.
I should have but I wasn't going to turn around and drive several miles back. Even before this stupid idiot became president that was more money in gas in than the sandwich was worth No..,... I just didn't go back. There are other places to take my money. Such as the local Taco Bell. What on Earth gave you the idea I work at McDonald's?
