If that is the case.....what , in your opinion or knowledge base is creating these weather extremes. ......that are taking place more frequently & more severely ....??
Weather extremes are not taking place more frequently and more severely. Only the hype is more frequent and severe.
Typhoons trending downward. Western Pacific Typhoon Trends Guest Blogger Whatever trend there is appears to be downwards. . . .
Your concern about weather "extremes" is misplaces since they occur every year somewhere on the planet, but as the chart shows it isn't a concern worth worrying about: LINK ===== Suggest that you stop taking the hyperbolic Media seriously since they are LYING a lot!
So they think high solar activity caused unusual warming, but low solar activity didn't cause the subsequent unusual cooling??!? Run that one by me again...
They have a novel explanation for the shift from heat to cold. That does not exclude continuing cold from subsequent diminished solar activity. It's an interesting idea.
What once was old seems new again, at least for alarmists. Tony Heller Exposes How The Earth’s Climate Was Riddled With Extremes 100 Years Ago By P Gosselin on 16. January 2022 Share this... In the following video, Tony Heller exposes what a fraud the “climate crisis” of today really is. Those demanding we completely overhaul our liberal socio-economic system and play risky socialist experiments on it because of the “man-made climate crisis” are political snake-oil salespeople. As Tony shows, extremely devastating weather events are nothing new and were common also in the past. The only thing that has gotten worse is how people are behaving nowadays. Interesting is how one French scientist was able to make predictions of natural disasters using what he knew about solar activity over 100 years ago. Enjoy his latest video.
American Southwest has resulted in the region’s driest two decades in 1200 years, a study found. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/14/...2682&user_id=4c68c4e9bd3f963fbfe158170142f11f
So, since just before the Medieval Warm Period. Climate records really don't mean much unless they are unprecedented in the Holocene. And they aren't.
There are problems with the paper already commented on: "Read the paper…major problems. First, they start by only considering 22 year droughts to optimally match the current event. If they selected a 30 or 50 year period, the current situation would fade in comparison to historical events. Then their method for determining the global warming component to the current “drought” is totally biased. They use CMIP6 models…which are far more sensitive than CMIP5…and not correct. Then they assume the difference between the models and observations during the past century is the GW signal…but that assumes the models are essentially perfect…and we know they have major flaws, including failure to simulate natural variability (such as PDO)…..just poor work….but the media eats it up…cliff mass" LINK
Tony Helly raked over this misleading nonsense showing with several old NYT editorials that they KNOW there have been lots of megadroughts in the past with published papers, Snow and Skiing data NOAA precipitation data and more. Flaunting Their Fake Climate News LINK
Nope. The NYT story is a lie. Sorry, New York Times and NPR, Megadroughts Have Been Far, Far, Worse Than Today UNCATEGORIZED FEBRUARY 15, 2022 ". . . . The tree ring data tells a story of five major Southwest US droughts since 800AD. The claim is that the worst is at present; the next worst was a period lasted 23 years in the late 1500’s. To a reasonable person, this should mean these periodic western droughts have little to do with climate change. However, there is some trickery afoot. Williams has redefined megadrought and ignored available data to support his assertion that humans are causing a megadrought. As Dr. John Christy of the University of Alabama in Huntsville explained in an email to me: These guys redefined a mega drought down to 22 years so it was optimized to fit the most recent 22 years. Had the used 30+ years, they don’t have a result. The alpine lakes of the Sierras are fine now, but during the real mega droughts, these lakes dried up so that forests could grow in the lake beds. The use of models is inadmissible because they fail in producing natural variability which was the cause of the previous megadroughts. Further, this NCC paper really isn’t anything new. Climate Realism discussed similar claims in the post, “Claims of Southwest USA ‘Megadrought’ Are All Wet.”. . . . "
Here is the big takedown of the bogus megadrought paper this is one is really easy for the layman to understand why it is a bad paper. Cliff Mass Weather Blog Is the Southwest U.S. Experiencing a Megadrought Fueled by Global Warming? LINK
The big failure of the paper was the cherrypicked 22 years' time frame, if it was 30 40 or 50 years the entire paper claims would collapse immediately.
Record heat in India and Pakistan was unlikely to occur without climate change, study shows A study by the World Weather Attribution group released Monday affirms that climate change made India’s and Pakistan’s record-hot March and April at least 30 times as likely and about one degree Celsius hotter compared to a time without human-induced warming from the burning of fossil fuels. The heat has strained wheat supplies and outdoor labor and is tied to at least 90 deaths. https://www.washingtonpost.com/weat...9.iPxrOSeiTtZ4_AP5gwIRkomJrMM0ACIC0MgO32qyUcs
I guess I'll have to cancel my exciting and long anticipated wonder vacation to Pakistan and go to someplace boring like London or Paris. With Biden's sky high gas prices I can't afford to drive anywhere.
You are not the only one affected by the after effects of the pandemic and Putins invasion. Nor are you the only one affected by the effects of climate extreme activity............and the new emerging reality. The issue is are we all part of the solution..............?? other lives have been a lot more drastically affected than just a choice of vacation destination. People are DYING from the extreme heat.
True, the increase in solar activity in the 19th and 20th centuries warmed the planet significantly. You mean a time when the lowest sustained solar activity in thousands of years caused the coldest 500-year period in the last 10,000 years? An order of magnitude more people die of cold every year than of heat. So to the extent that climate change contributed to those deaths, it has probably saved ~800 lives elsewhere. But those saved lives are never reported, are they?
Yes, I know. Biden's shutting down pipelines, raising taxes on oil from wells located on federal lands, discouragement of fracking and stopping permission to drill on newly leased lands has results which are nothing short of MURDER! I'm with you on condemning Biden's war on the US oil industry.
Are they trying to move too quickly?? And is this acceleration being determined in part by current Russian behavior ? On the surface, it seems that way...
